They particularly help families on a low income - enjoy time at the cinema or at the leisure centre. Have a day out at attractions in London or when on holiday check out what venues you can visit whilst on holiday in England or Wales. In the last year over 1600 Time Credits were earned by almost 100 Timebanking individuals. Time Credits and Time Banks working together. Peckover House Spend the day exploring the stunning house and acres of gardens at Peckover House this spring. While you are there why not discover their brand-new special exhibition. When Peckover came into the care of the National Trust in 1948, it was without its contents. Amongst the most precious items to have been lost, were Lord Peckover’s book collection. As Peckover House opens its doors for this new season, this special exhibition for 2019 will celebrate Peckover House an avid collector and his lost library. Ben Rickett, Operations Manager at Peckover House said; “Lord Peckover built up a valuable library of rare books, which was sold or given away before the house came into the care of the National Trust. This year marks the centenary of his death and it feels like the perfect time to bring some of those books back, to tell his story.” “Lord Peckover’s book collection included rare and early bibles, obscure medieval manuscripts, lavishly illustrated atlases. We’re really excited to be able to redisplay some of these lost treasures in the Library that Lord Peckover added himself.” Entry to the house = 2 Time Credits per person or visit Elgoods Brewery, a four-acre garden The North Brink Brewery, a classic 200 year old brewery situated on the banks of the River Nene, Behind which is a four acre garden that you can explore with your Time Credits. incorporating specimen trees as old as the surrounding buildings, herbaceous borders, a lake, rockery, water features, exotic house and herb garden, as well as herbaceous borders. As we are only a small concern, this service is mainly for Members, but we will consider Non-Members if items are available at the time. This service is an additional aid to our Time4Health project. We can also help you get to appointments, help with housework, shopping or your garden whilst you are unfit to do it yourself. TimeBank always offers companionship and help with the tasks you can’t manage – even as small as changing a light bulb that can be so frustrating when you can’t. A week or two in the life of a TimeBanker This month we have helped a lady move by wallpapering her new room, we’ve taken 6 hours to bring a garden back into a manageable state, our homeless young lady now has her own flat we helped her move, we’ve put a curtain rail and have another to get done urgently, we’ve gone shopping for someone that couldn’t manage, we’ve weeded another garden, we kept another lady company and of course there’s always another gardening job done, our most popular request and our “donate not dump it” scheme gave a sofa-bed a new life and needed transport. Join the TimeBank to help others or if necessary, to get help for yourself – unlike a bank, you don’t have to be in credit to ask for help and we don’t charge other than the cost of materials if used. Helping others gives pleasure and being helped gives pleasure - therefore it’s a win win organisation. So easy to join contact details below:
