Space will be held on a tentative basis for you when reserving a trip. We reserve the right to cancel your reservation if payment is not received in a timely manner. Deposits & Cancellations: Since we are obligated to make financial commitments to my suppliers prior to a tour's departure based on your anticipated participation, we have instituted the following reservation & cancellation policies: Day-trips: Full payment is due 45 days prior to the trip, and is Refundable up to 14 days prior to the trip Day-trips with ticketed events (theatre, show, or ballgame): Shows under $ 100 require full payment to reserve, Shows over $ 100 require $ 75 per person to reserve Balance is due 45 days prior to the trip and is Non-refundable unless your ticket is resold Overnight motorcoach trips: $ 75 per person deposit to reserve space. Balance is due 45 days prior to departure. Payments are refundable up to 30 days prior to departure. Overnight motorcoach trips with ticketed events (theatre, show or ballgame): A $ 100 per person, non-refundable deposit is required to reserve. Balance is due 45 days prior to the trip Deposit will be refunded if your ticket is resold, and the balance is refundable up to 30 days prior to departure For longer overnight trips & cruises, and trips including airfare – please check the individual fliers for deposit and cancellation policies TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE is available for all trips - for overnight trips, you’ll receive pricing with your invoice. For daytrips, insurance is $7 per person for all trips that do not involve theater. Theater daytrip’s insurance cost is $14 per person. We have included a walking guide in the brochure, which you’ll find at the end of each tour description: A trip with minimal walking A trip that includes moderate walking at your own pace A trip that includes extended periods of walking or guided walking tours. On some tours, you may be able to omit portions of the tour that are too physical for you. As always, if you have any questions about the tour, don’t hesitate to call. Trips with this icon are shorter in length - 8 hours or less from the bridge (9 hours or less from Dennis) Customary end-of-tour gratuities are included for the driver, escort and local tour guide (when a step- on guide is hired), wait staff, and baggage handlers. Gratuities for hotel housekeeping staff are not included unless otherwise noted on your itinerary, and a basic gratuity of $ 2-3 per person, per day is customary Pickup locations: Our Hyannis pickup is at the commuter lot behind Burger King at exit 6 off of Route 6. This is NOT the Burger King parking lot, as they will tow any vehicles left there for an extended time. Park in the commuter lot and wait at the enclosures for the bus – please be sure that you are parked in a legal parking spot – if you are on the grass or outside of the marked parking spots, you will be issued a parking citation. The police patrol this lot, and will ticket/tow any car that is parked illegally. As always, parking is at your own risk at any of our pickup locations. 1. Patriots Square, Route 134, Dennis 2. Barnstable Commuter lot, Route 132, Hyannis – if you find that there are no remaining legal parking places, please proceed to either Sagamore or Dennis (if you have time) to meet the bus – do NOT go to the Hyannis Transportation Center 3. Sagamore Commuter lot, at the foot of the Sagamore Bridge Your requested pickup location will be printed on your sales receipt or invoice. Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the departure time, and call the office if you decide to change to a different pickup location. In the interest of fairness to those boarding in Hyannis & Sagamore as well as our handicapped passengers, we assign seats on the bus, as they do on the airlines, on a first-come, first- serve basis. If you are traveling with friends and signing up separately, be sure to let us know who you are traveling with so that we can seat you next to each other. Single travelers will be given their own seats if space allows or may be seated with another single traveler. Please sit in your assigned seat until after we have picked up in Sagamore, then you can change seats if there is an empty seat is available.
The office is open Monday through Friday between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM. If you get our voicemail when you call, please leave a message and I will return your call – most times I am in the office but simply on the other line helping another customer. You’ll also find video clips for some of our theater trips, and a link to our trip research page on Pinterest, where we have posted pictures of the places that we will visit on our trips and links to the attraction & hotel websites. You do not need to sign up or give any information to Pinterest in order to view the pictures, so check it out! Signing up for a trip is easy – simply call us with your name, phone number, number of seats needed, and pick-up location. The person that made the reservation will receive an invoice 6-7 weeks prior to the trip with departure times and any balance due listed. If you are mailing in a payment, please keep the lower portion for your records, as your pickup time & location are printed on the invoice. For an overnight trip, you will receive a mailing with your itinerary and luggage tags approximately 30 days prior to your trip. Senior Center Signups - If you sign up through a Senior Center, please send your payment to the Senior Center, and they will forward it to me. You will not receive an invoice from me for the trip - your Senior Center will contact you for payment and inform you of departure times. For overnight trips, you will receive your itinerary and bag tags about 30 days prior to the trip. JULY USS Constitution Turn Around Cruise, Wednesday, July 4 – Back from 2 years in dry dock and now fully restored, the USS Constitution is once again ready to salute the nation with her annual Turn Around Cruise! “Old Ironsides” is the oldest Commissioned warship afloat in the world. The Constitution is most famous for her actions during the War of 1812 against Great Britain, when she captured numerous merchant ships and defeated five British warships. This annual sail takes place so that The Constitution’s sides weather evenly while she is at dock and greeting tourists the rest of the year. Step aboard our elegant yacht and be treated to a historic narration as you watch the Constitution’s voyage on Boston Harbor from the water. We will follow the USS Constitution as she travels to Castle Island in South Boston, where she fires a 21 gun salute to the nation before returning to her berth in Charlestown. Cruise pricing and details have not been announced yet. We will start the day meeting at the Hyline Docks in Hyannis at 9:00 AM (bus transportation to the Hyannis dock is NOT included in this tour). Cruise aboard Hyline’s fast ferry to the picturesque island of Nantucket. You will have three hours to explore Nantucket Island and enjoy lunch on your own. Shop in the quaint downtown, explore on rented bicycles, relax by the seaside or take an optional guided bus tour of the island. Then it’s on to the beautiful island of Martha’s Vineyard where we will enjoy a one-hour guided walking tour of Oak Bluffs including the historic downtown area and the world famous Martha’s Vineyard Camp Meeting Association (the gingerbread cottage community). Hear the history of this community that is now designated a National Historic Landmark. After our walking tour, you will still have 2.5 hours to explore the Vineyard. Plenty of time for shopping, visiting a café (or homemade ice cream shop!), taking an optional bus tour, or hop the trolley to Edgartown or Vineyard Haven. Our fast ferry service will get us back to Hyannis for dinner (7:10 PM) to end our magical day. $ 95
Cirque du Soleil “Luzia”, Sunday, July 15 - Recognized over the world, Cirque du Soleil has constantly sought to evoke imagination, invoke senses and provoke emotions. Discover the highly creative and artistic shows from Cirque du Soleil! “Luzia” takes you to an imaginary Mexico, like in a waking dream, where light (“luz” in Spanish) quenches the spirit, and rain (“lluvia”) soothes the soul. With a surrealistic series of grand visual surprises and breathtaking acrobatic performances, “Luzia” cleverly brings to the stage multiple places, faces and sounds of Mexico taken from both tradition and modernity. We have amazing seats for the 1:30 PM show at Suffolk Downs with free time before the show for lunch on your own at Faneuil Hall. $ 130 Newport Playhouse “No Tell Motel” & LOBSTERFEST, Tuesday, July 17 - You’ll enjoy the all-you-can-eat buffet lunch, which includes oven roasted chicken, BBQ chicken, mussels, shrimp, corn on the cob, clam chowder, a 1 ¼ pound boiled lobster, and much more! Then, walk into the intimate theatre for the comedy show, “No Tell Motel”. Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch, 1 ¼ lb. lobster and an afternoon of laughter! $ 115 Essex Rail & Sail, Thursday, July 19 – Travel on a vintage 1920s coach pulled by an authentic steam locomotive through the Connecticut countryside. Our conductor will explain the history of rail travel and point out local points of interest along the 12-mile, narrated round-trip train ride into the heart of the unspoiled Connecticut River Valley. The picturesque countryside includes pristine meadows, a mill pond with waterfall, trestles and bridges over rivers and creeks. While on board our rail excursion, we will be treated to a delicious full lunch. Then, we’ll board the Becky Thatcher, for a one-hour Riverboat cruise along the majestic Connecticut River. Along the way, we’ll see Gillette Castle, Goodspeed Opera House, and the Haddam Swing Bridge. End the day exploring the quaint seaside village of Essex to shop the boutiques or relax on the waterfront. $ 120
Kentucky Bluegrass & optional show “Jesus” at Sight & Sound, Saturday, July 21 – Friday, July 27 – Take a spiritual journey with us to see the amazing new Ark Encounter, the Creation Museum, and the Sight & Sound live stage production of “Jesus” in Pennsylvania. The Creation Museum and Ark Encounter are operated by the Christian organization Answers in Genesis, which promotes a literal interpretation of the Genesis creation narrative in the Bible. Regardless of your beliefs, you will find these museums full of thought provoking ideas and exhibits. DAY 1 – We’ll travel to Bedford, Pennsylvania, where we will overnight at the Quality Inn. DAY 2 – We’ll continue on to Wilder, KY and arrive at our hotel for the next three nights, the Holiday Inn Express Cincinnati South at approximately 4 PM. B,D DAY 3 – We’ll enjoy a one-hour guided tram tour through America’s first and (the world’s largest) Toyota manufacturing facility. The Toyota tour offers an up-close look at the world-renowned Toyota Production System where cars are being assembled while they glide around the plant on the conveyor system. Then, we’ll visit the Ark Encounter, an attraction that features a full-size Noah’s Ark, built according to the dimensions given in the Bible, 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high. Scores of exhibits about the flood, Noah, and the animals are designed to answer your questions about the biblical account of Noah’s Ark. At the park’s Ararat Ridge Zoo, you can visit animals from around the world like Tibetan yaks, kangaroos, and ostriches. You’ll enjoy an included lunch before visiting the Ark, and dinner before we depart the Ark Encounter. B,L,D DAY 4 –We will explore Kentucky’s beautiful horse country today, beginning with a behind-the-scenes tour at the Thoroughbred Center to learn about the daily care of thoroughbreds, and how they are trained for racing. You’ll watch morning workouts, see horses up close at track side, in the paddocks and barns, and visit with professionals who will answer your questions. Then, we will stop at the Old Friends Farm, where race horses retire when their racing and breeding days are over. We’ll take a guided walking tour to get an upclose look at these race horses and learn about their lives and careers. Then, we’ll continue on to Churchill Downs, where we will take a look at this most famous racetrack on our 30- minute guided historic walking tour. We’ll visit the Kentucky Derby Museum to see “The Greatest Race,” which is projected larger-than-life in one of the world’s only 360°, 4K high-resolution theaters – it’s sure to make your heart race. We’ll explore two floors of interactive exhibits about the history of the race and all of the traditions that have transformed the race into what it is today. Then, enjoy a delicious dinner at Claudia Sanders Dinner House, served in an elegant, Southern Colonial style building where Colonel Sanders began his restaurant business. B, D DAY 5 – The state-of-the-art Creation Museum promotes a literal interpretation of the Genesis creation narrative in the Bible. The museum allows you to venture through biblical history, as you explore the stunning Garden of Eden, Noah’s Ark, and the Tower of Babel.
Finish your tour by watching the theater production, The Last Adam. We will take a one- hour guided tour of St Mary’s Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption, inspired by the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a fun, informative tour of the original Jungle Jim’s International Market, a wacky food emporium that has over 7 acres of food items, including 800 kinds of produce, 140 types of honey, 1,400 cheeses, and 4,000 local and craft beers. During our tour, you’ll enjoy food samples from around the world, explore miles of incredible sights, tastes, and smells while our knowledgeable tour guide leads you on a fun-filled, informational, and entertaining safari through the wilds of Jungle Jim’s! Today, Peaks Island is the most populous island in Casco Bay. Just 3 miles from downtown Portland and only 720 acres, it boasts a small town feel with unparalleled ocean views. Enjoy free time in downtown Portland before we board our ferry for the quick 20 minute sail to Peaks Island. On island, we will be treated to a 75-minute golf cart tour of the island (the preferred method of transportation on island!). Your journey back in time begins at the Founder's Monument where you'll learn about Peaks Island's Pioneer Families. As you ride in the comfort of a 6- 8 passenger electric golf cart, your guide will describe how each neighborhood grew and prospered. “Moulin Rouge! The Musical”, Wednesday, July 25 – Pre-Broadway World Premiere! Set in Montmartre Quarter of Paris, France at the turn of the century, a world of indulgent beauty and unparalleled extravagance, of bohemians and aristocrats, of boulevardiers and mademoiselles, Moulin Rouge! The Musical tells the fictional story of an ambitious, lovesick writer, Christian (Aaron Tveit), and a dazzling, entrancing chanteuse, Satine (Karen Olivo). Their lives collide at the Moulin Rouge with its many characters including the host of the Moulin Rouge, Harold Zidler (Danny Burstein), the brilliant and starving artist Toulouse-Lautrec (Sahr Ngaujah), the greatest tango dancer - and gigolo - in all of Paris, Santiago (Ricky Rojas), the tempting Nini (Robyn Hurder), and The Duke of Monroth (Tam Mutu), the wealthy and entitled patron of the club who thinks he can buy anything he wants, including love. The stage musical features many of the iconic songs from the movie and some of the most beloved popular music of the past 50 years. We have orchestra seating for the 2:00 PM show at Boston’s Colonial Theater with free time before the show at the Prudential Center. $ 155 Saratoga Springs Racing, Sunday, July 29 –Tuesday, July 31 – Dubbed “Queen of the Spas” over a century ago, it was the naturally flowing, carbonated springs that first brought visitors, including the rich and famous. Then came the Saratoga Race Course, which has attracted high rollers to Saratoga Springs since the late 1800s. On this getaway, we’ll learn about both the springs, horse racing, see the beautiful mansions on Millionaires Row, and enjoy some free time to explore the vibrant downtown. DAY 1 – We’ll begin our getaway with a delicious lunch at Longfellow’s Restaurant. We’ll visit the National Museum of Racing & Hall of Fame, which tells the story of racing through a renowned equine art collection, beautiful racing silks, and memorabilia. Our guided tour will take us through the museum, and we’ll visit the Racing Day Gallery to prepare us for our day at the races - it features displays on the jockey room, the weighing-in process, racing surfaces, and odds. Test your skills at “Ready To Ride!” a racehorse simulator that will give you the experience of riding a Thoroughbred race horse. Then, wind down at Saratoga Winery, with an informal, relaxed wine pairing with handmade chocolate Truffles and a tasting of 5-wines that they pair well with. Everyone will take home a souvenir wine glass to remember our trip. Enjoy a welcome reception at the Queensbury Hotel in Glens Falls. L DAY 2 – After a full breakfast buffet, we’ll depart for Saratoga Race Track to take the Backstretch Tram Tour. We’ll get a look at the race horses as they workout in preparation for the day’s race and see how they teach the horses to enter the starting gate at our Starting Gate Demonstration. Then, meet our local guide for a two-hour bus tour of Saratoga Springs, which will highlight Historic Congress Park, the mineral springs (stopping at a few to sample some of the restorative spring water from their “fountains of youth,”) see historic Victorian architecture, take a leisurely drive down Millionaires Row, and hear
about the many characters and personalities that have called Saratoga Springs home. Then, it’s off to the races! Nearly 150 years later, the Mount Washington Cog Railway continues to provide a sense of adventure and history as it carries passengers up a 3- mile-long trestle and the steepest railroad tracks in North America to the 6,288-foot summit of Mount Washington. But now, railway passengers may also marvel at how the Mount Washington Cog Railway has combined the 19th century and 21st century technologies as they introduce their eco-friendly biodiesel engines. The trains run on the same tracks and use the unique cog technology, giving the same experience that has thrilled passengers for nearly 150 years but in a method kinder to our planet (and without all that soot streaming back into the cars!). Once at the summit, visitors can take in the spectacular panoramic view, spanning the mountains and valleys of New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont, north into Canada to Quebec, and east to the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy the scenery from the 230-foot ship with four heated interior decks. We will enjoy a luncheon buffet during our cruise, and then travel to the North side of the Lake to tour Castle in the Clouds, a 5,200 acre estate located high above Lake Winnipesauke, with breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The castle was built by the eccentric Mr. Plant, who spared no cost in developing the eight-square-mile estate he named "Lucknow."
