Brighton Primary School Newsletter SCHOOL VALUES Care and Respect; Achieving Success; Responsible Learners; Environmentally Aware August 24 Term 3 Week 5 From the Principal Dear Students, Parents, Families and Caregivers, Sincere thanks to Mike Delean and Renee Book, who took on the Principal and Deputy Principal roles respectively, while Sue Gaardboe and I were on leave for the first 3 weeks of this term. I have always appreciated the will- ingness of leadership staff and other teaching staff to take on new challeng- es and responsibilities while others are absent. Thanks Mike and Renee. On my return from long service leave it was very exciting to see our Learn- ing Area 1 redevelopment almost complete, with the construction of our new staffroom, and new STEM space, new ‘breakout areas and the renova- tion of three of our Junior Primary Classes. Special thanks to Lucy Freeman, Ashlyn De Haas, Amy Kelsh and Diane Donaldson whose classes were locat- ed in our Art Space and Library for the first 6 months of this year while our STEM renovations took place. Also to Rachel Snewin, our visual arts/ performing arts teacher who has been located in the wet area of Learning Area 3 for this time. Rachel will move back into her space after we have renovated this area. Early next term we plan to hold an official opening of the STEM space where we will invite Department For Education personnel, members of the government and our Governing Council.
