FOUR WHEELS, A SEAT, A STEERING WHEEL. THEY’RE MY LIFE”. PUBLISHED IN JAPAN. N O N - F I C T I O N “He was a sincere man, and people knew that. As a pilot, I can easily say he was the best”. Felipe Massa SOLD TO: JAPAN (San-Ei Shobo) foreignrights@otago.it Three times World’s Champion, one of the greatest pilots of Formula 1 of all times, Ayrton Senna died in Italy on 1th of May 1994. This book is the story of what hap- pened on that weekend that changed forever the F1 world, but is also the story of the man under the pilot’s helmet. Ayrton Senna left a terrible void, because his talent was unique. But the greatness of his character crosses the bounds of motoring: involving more than 5 million Brazil- ians, the chronicles of his funeral sealed a life dedicated to the passion for racing. Leo Turrini describes his career: the great triumphs and burning defeats, his de- cency during the competitions and the darker aspects of his personality. Always overwhelmed by his emotions, Senna was like a comic’s superhero on the racetrack and a man with a delicate sensibility in his everyday life. People, and not only in his beloved Brazil, had learned to understand his double identity: for this reason, on May 1, the grief was collective, huge and inconsolable. Beginning at the end, with the last trip on the plane that hosts Senna’s corpse, this book is not and does not want to be a biography. It is more an act of gratitude. Sport reporter for Sky Tv, LEO TURRINI has been following the Formula 1 for Italian news- papers since the early 80s (“Il Resto del Car- lino”, “La Nazione” and “Il Giorno”). He has followed nearly 400 Grand Prix Formula 1. He wrote many books and biographies, such as Enzo Ferrari. Un eroe italiano (2017); Schu- macher. La leggenda di un uomo normale (2014); Bartali. N O N - F I C T I O N «la Repubblica» “Hafez’s true Religion is Love, everlasting and boundless”. «Il Sole 24 ore» “Haidar had spent nineteen years on books, translations and seminars to spread love and tear down the walls of suspicion, hate and violence”. «Corriere della Sera» foreignrights@otago.it Hafez Haidar builds up bridges. As a man, as a scholar, as a writer. To him, culture is “a redeeming tool which enclose beauty, wisdom and boundless love”. For this reason, he has been nominated for the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize. For his dual nature of man and scholar of both Arab and Christian literature – he belongs to these two cultural traditions, from which he acquired a wider and more complete spirituality –, Hafez Haidar is a unique author in the Italian literary scene. He is considered one of the world’s leading scholars of Monotheistic Religions and the aim of all his works is to spread intercultural dialogues and to reconcile two worlds mistakenly opposed, the Islamic and the Christian, in order to demonstrate the possibility of a peaceful coexistence. His message is a concrete tool “to tear down the walls of suspicion, hate and violence”. Through the tale of Koran and Mohammed’s life, he wants to teach his students how the Islamic fundamentalism is nothing more than a scaring drift of Islam culture, born out of fanaticism, hunger, ignorance and economic interests. “A terrorist is the enemy of West and East, he had de- famed and blemished his religion”. Academician Emeritus, Ambassador of Human Rights, Chairman of several national and international Prizes Committees, Knight of the Italian Republic and Inter- national Director of the Camerata dei Poeti in Florence, HAFEZ HAIDAR is a Lebanese poet and writer. He lives in Italy and he is currently a teacher of Arabic Language and Literature at the University of Pavia. His best-seller books have been published by Mondadori, Rizzoli, Piemme and Fabbri. He edited The Prophet and other works of Kahlil Gibran, and his translation of The Arabian Nights has been very appreciated by the literary world. 24
