CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
The Ticket to the Moon Foundation was established after
three years of field experience. Since 2006, a relief pro-
ject was conducted by travellers in Mandorak County, in the
north-west of the remote Indonesian island of Sumba.
Sensitive to the native circumstances, these travellers teamed
up with the locals to help the indigenous Kodi people to im-
prove their living conditions and build resilience, while pre-
serving the ancestral culture. Many concrete changes have
been realized – new roads were built to facilitate trade and
to bridge the gap between the Kodi and other tribes. We dug
a Photovoltaic-powered water well for clean water access
and built a primary school to teach Indonesian language and
a standardized curriculum. In addition, we maintain ongoing
programs that provide aid in education, sustainable eco-
nomic development, renewable electricity and health- care.
The Kodi have successfully reduced the number of malaria
victims, with the use of the mosquito nets that we provided.
