Newsletter F/W - 19/20 Newsletter F/W - 19/20 BFBMM NOMINATED 2019 Bamar BFBMM is a new and innovative line of manual mainsail furling mechanisms to be installed on furling booms manufactured by any boom maker. Designed with the most modern CAD technologies, machined from solid blocks of stainless steel, with high characteristics of strength and durability over time, the unit combines functionality with innovative design expressing concretely how a smart idea may be transformed into a functional reality through the skillful use of modern CNC machines. S.S. elements are mirror polished to enhance the appeal of the end- product and give it an attractive finish. A benefit of mirror-polish is that it improves corrosion resistance in marine conditions and makes cleaning easier The unit is made by a gear box (protected in a cylindrical structure designed to be housed inside the mainsail furling mandrel) and an integrated furling pulley located on the inboard end of the unit to keep weight inboard. The pulley is equipped with an easy handling manual mechanical lock to allow you keep reefing positions without wearing out the furling line. The kit may be completed by an optional hardcote anodized boom toggle. The series is available in two sizes: - 110 for mandrels with external Ø 110 mm – max boom E length 6 m - 140 for mandrels with external Ø 140 mm – max boom E length 8 m Electric upgrade with Bamar BFBME motorizations is possible. You will be able to keep same mandrel and toggle, as manual and electric units are identical in size and perfectly match.
