Newsletter S/S - 2019 Grand Soleil 80 The new Gran Soleil 80’, designed in co-operation with naval architect Ceccarelli, is a real „custom“ project. Born for cruising, she has strong attitudes for racing too. The boat has partially removable furniture to be lighter in weight during races. They also studied „double“ solutions for the rig, to be able to convert the yacht from „Cruiser“ to „Racer“ very quickly. Having this perspective in mind, the boat yard commissioned Bamar both standard and custom hydraulic cylinders, and for the headstay, they requested an EJF2 electric furler with tensioning cylinder combined with aluminium furling foils for the „Cruising“ version. In the race configuration, they will fit a carbon forestay combined with a hydraulic tensioning cylinder. The official presentation is scheduled in May at the Grand Soleil Cup 2019 in Porto Piccolo (TS). Bamar attended sea trials with the team to fine-tune the rig. Beside, an informal image taken during sea trials.
Newsletter S/S - 2019 Special refit Bamar does not only supply new products, but it also carries out „Refits“ and maintenance at any level. From the „small“ electric furler to super yacht equipment. Therefore, it is possible to schedule a service to keep equipment in perfect working order. Each unit is inspected, and our engineers issue report in which the status of each individual component is described. Once the maintenance level is determined, a team of skilled technicians performs the service. Finally, the mechanism is tested on the test bench. Once tests have a positive outcome, the engine is ready to be fitted back on board and do its job for many years.
Newsletter S/S - 2019 Electric Foresail Furlers Upgrade Bamar supplied many „Old“ aluminium MEJS furlers with round flange between 2007 and 2016. Therefore, we thought about manufacturing a custom s.s. round flange for the new stainless steel GFSE furlers. No structural changes are thus required thanks to the total compatibility between the two versions, should sailing yachts equipped with the „old“ model choose to „UPGRADE“ their headstay with the new high performing s.s. model.
Newsletter S/S - 2019 2019 Boat Shows After an intense 2018-2019 season, we start programming our 2019 -2020 boat show season. Bamar will exhibit, either directly with its Team or through Distributors, at scheduled International Boat Shows. Therefore, boat owners and professionals may have the chance to „touch“ products and latest news displayed at the following events: 10 - 15 September 2019 13 October 2019 Cannes Trieste 49th Annual 12 - 15 September 2019 23 - 27 October 2019 Newport Hamburg 13 - 22 September 2019 19 - 21 November 2019 Southampton Amsterdam 18 - 23 September 2019 7 – 15 December 2019 LA ROCHELLE PORT DES MINIMES La Rochelle Parigi 19 - 24 September 2019 18 – 20 January 2020 Genova Düsseldorf
Newsletter S/S - 2019 Grand Soleil Cup 2019 The race dedicated to all Grand Soleil owners takes place in Porto Piccolo (TS) on 18th and 19th May. After some editions in the Tyrrhenian Sea, the event returns to the top Adriatic hosted by Porto Piccolo Yacht Club. The race / event formula suitable for all the types of crew is confirmed. The only prerequisite is being a Grand Soleil owner. Bamar is a long-term supplier of the Shipyard, and this year we confirm once more our participation to the race as Sponsors. The winner is offered an RLG EVO as a prize, while all registered owners receive Bamar branded gadgets, including the exclusive Bag made from recycled sail fabric, in limited series with the event logo, produced by Rivelami. New Sardiniasail A team that aims at promoting social reintegration projects, through the creation of a sailing school with tariffs accessible to all and for people of any age. This is the praiseworthy project of Simone Camba. With the help of sponsors, he recently purchased a G34 made by Cino Ricci and designed by Finot for the Sailing Tour of Italy held until a few years ago. Bamar is „on board“ with a ROLLGEN EVO 08, which will be used during the busy schedule of events and races the boat and its Team will participate to.
Newsletter S/S - 2019 Motorized Pad Eyes The range of new PE & PI, electric and hydraulic motorized Pad Eye furling motorizations, keeps on increasing. The extremely compact hydraulic unit, size WL 20t, with direct motor in-line with the stay, has been installed on an 80‘ catamaran. These furlers were designed to be combined with NO TORSION stays and EVO high performance halyard swivel. The photo presents two hydraulic units with motor in line with the stay, 10 & 20 tons max WL Blocks For 2:1 Halyards Nowadays, the design trend is to equip the extreme foredeck of new sailing yachts with a furling sail hoisted on a No Torsion stay. Compatibly with dimensions and loads involved, it is therefore required to hold high halyard loads. You thus need to create a 2: 1 tackle on the halyard, combining the halyard swivel, placed at the upper end of the stay, with a block that allows it „splitting“ to share the load. In combination with the EVO series, Bamar proposes a new line of self-contained blocks, connected to the Halyard swivel through a high textile loop module and a pin with two „saddles“. Compact dimensions, lightweight and maximum flexibility are the features that distinguish this new „Block“, available in sizes from 5t to 20t WL.
Newsletter S/S - 2019 Boards And Fittings Intended to be combined with tack and head on CODE “0”s and Drifters, they are made of anodized aluminum and represent the correct refinement of furling sails on removable stays. Designed to be fitted on RLG-EVO drums and halyard swivels, they can nonetheless be used by sailmakers and riggers for any similar application, or to improve sail construction. Their specially designed shape allows the stay to be “swaged” and tack bands to be sewn. Low Friction Rings And Thimbles Combined with ultra-stretched high performance textile stays of modern construction, these fittings made of aluminum alloy contribute to complete the construction of on-board manoeuvres. The now ubiquitous „low friction“ rings find various applications. From simple returns, to the construction of textile tackles used to replace classic blocks. Lightweight and very simple, they are nothing but the modern version of tackle systems used on galleons. The series of thimbles in anodized aluminum is designed to match perfectly with RLG EVO drums and halyard swivels. It can however be used to complete the rigging on stays and textiles stays in general.

Newsletter S/S - 2019 Quality One of the main targets of the company is to ensure complete and constant customer satisfaction, to be reached by continuous Quality improvement. In this context, the need to ensure that all products that are being manufactured are in compliance with the required specifications, led Bamar to the development of a quality management system that has been certified in accordance with the standards ISO 9001 / UNI EN ISO 9001 : 2015 (SGS). In the design phase, we proceed with the creation of a FEA model; then, once the production phase with CNC machines is completed, we first inspect the correspondence of the item made with the original design. Finally, after the final product has been assembled, we carry out tests on the test bench: we check product compliance, no-load operation and with maximum working load. The entire production cycle is carried out in Italy in our headquarters in Forli. Bamar Facilities In July 2010, Bamar premises moved to the industrial district of Villa Selva Forlì - Via F.lli Lumière, 45. The new area of 18.000 square metres also includes the mechanical workshop, in order to guarantee a greater synergy between workshop and warehouse staff, and speed up production process, machining, assembly, test and product delivery. Bamar workshop boasts a production plant made by vanguard CNC machining centres that allow for high flexibility and production quality. Our company may thus grant a 360° service, starting from the mere client’s requirement and ending up with the finished product.
