FISA 2021 (autumn session) France International Spirits Awards© RULES ARTICLE 1: PURPOSE ® The FISA - FRANCE INTERNATIONAL SPIRITS AWARDS (autumn session) contest is orga- nised by the SAS FIWA, 183 avenue Achille Peretti , 92200 Neuilly sur Seine (France), R.C.S Nanterre 830 252 532. It is open to all spirits with or without geographical indication from all countries and regions. It intends to emphasize the intrinsic qualities of the spirits and to distin- guish those attaining a very high quality level close to the opti-mum tasting expression of their ® origin. The FISA - FRANCE INTERNATIONAL SPIRITS AWARDS is organised according to the rules set hereafter. These rules are available for consultation by all interested people at www.fiwa.fr ARTICLE 2: ELIGIBLE PARTIES Spirits from all producing countries are able to enter the competition, whiskies, gins, rhum agri- coles, te-quila, brandies, etc.. (category codes to complete your subscription) ARTICLE 3: TERMS OF ADMISSION A Terms of admission to the FISA - "FRANCE INTERNATIONAL SPIRITS AWARDS ®" are as follows : a. The competition is open to all spirits complying with the definition of a spirits. All products with vines product must indicate the country where the grapes were harvested and made into a spi- rits. b. All spirits from all countries and regions may enter the competition. c. Competing spirits should come from a uniform batch intended for consumption and be avai- lable in a quantity of at least 1,000 litres each. Any smaller volume, but still superior to 100 litres, may be accepted if the yield is particularly low. The spirits must be bottled. d. Reference to the origin or source must appear on the said bottles. ARTICLE 4 : SAMPLES Each sample is submitted under the following terms : - 6 bottles from 750 ml to 1000 ml for each sample, (under 700 ml, 1 carton of 12 blles). Bottles should be labelled with their commercial labels. - Each sample should be delivered to the place indicated before the date stipulated on the en- try form. - Samples shall be forwarded at the expense and risk of the competitors. The FIWA SAS will receive all samples and entry fees and eliminate those which do not comply with the rules. Non-compliant samples shall not be returned and shall remain the property of the FIWA SAS. Samples sent postage due shall be rejected ARTICLE 5 : ENTRY PROCEDURES An entry form for each sample must be completed and sent to the FIWA SAS, together with payment of the entry fees and the analysis report. The analysis report, dated within the last year, which is required. The entry fees owed per submitted sample are indicated on the entry form and 365 € Excl. V.A.T. for EU countries and non EU countries and China. Bank charges are not covered by the FIWA SAS. Under no circumstances are the entry fees refundable, regardless of the reasons for entry cancella-tion. Payment methods (documentary evidence is to be sent with the entry form and the payment form) : - by bank transfer (send a copy of the transfer with the entry form). - by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Eurocard). All forms sent without payment of the entry fees, analysis report shall be rejected. The FIWA SAS reserves the right to limit the number of samples according to the order of arrival of the entry forms. ARTICLE 6 : TERMS OF ORGANISATION OF THE TASTING Wines will be grouped and tasted according to their category (origin, type, colour), the samples having been previously placed in identical packing thus hiding their shape and gua- ranteeing anonymity. The assessment of the wines will be descriptive and include comments on : - visual characteristics, - olfactory characteristics, - palate impression, - overall impression, - typicity of the product. The FIWA SAS shall designate the panels of judges from a pre-established list of tasters. The panels of judges will be primarily composed of French and international Experts. Chair- manship accrues to a French Expert, Non-expert judges shall be selected among specialists recognised for their skills in the field of tasting, from very different backgrounds such as pro- duction, oenologist, etc. The total number of international judges shall be decided according to the number of samples submitted. Each panel shall be composed of at least 5 judges. The FIWA SAS shall take appropria-te measures so that a competitor, member of the jury, does not judge his own spirits. The FIWA SAS shall collect a declaration upon honour from the members of the jury stating their direct or indi-rect relations with the wines submitted to the competition. The FIWA SAS shall designate, for each panel, the chairman who shall manage the running of the tasting, ensure the general operating of the panel of judges and summarise the tasting comments. The FIWA SAS shall take care of the smooth running of The FISA - FRANCE INTERNATIONAL SPIRITS AWARDS ® and designate an independent commissio- ner general who shall not participate in the running of the competition. The latter is in charge of checking compliance with the rules, preparing the samples, organising and carrying out the tasting and its judgement, by using the appropriate sheet, monitoring, exploiting, and publis- hing the results. ARTICLE 7 : AWARDS The adopted scale of awards is a system of appreciation enabling to rank the competing spi- rits according to their intrinsic qualities. The FIWA SAS defines the following awards: - Grand Gold Medal. - Gold Medal. - Silver Medal. These awards, limited to 30% per category and for all participating spirits shall be attributed according to the appreciation of the panels of judges to the spirits attaining a high degree of expression deserving to be distinguished. The spirit having received the best score may be rewarded by specific prize (Grand Gold Medal). Results will be published when the award win- ners are announced. Each participant will be informed at a later stage by mail. The FIWA SAS provides the award winners with a diploma and a document stating the name of the competi- tion, the nature of the bestowed award, the identity of the spirits, the category in which it com- peted, the volume declared and the name and address of the owner. Labels indicating the awarded prize may be affixed to the bottles and are available from the FIWA SAS for award- winning spirits according to the volume of spirits declared on the entry form. ARTICLE 8 : CONTROLS The FIWA SAS has exclusive competence to settle any potential disputes. The FIWA SAS re- serves the right to cancel any incomplete or incorrect entries and eliminate all samples non- compliant with the rules. The commissioner general shall send to FIWA, within a two month delay after the competition, a signed report, certifying that the competition was conducted in accordance with the provisions of the rules and specifying the following information : - the number of spirits submitted to the competition, overall and by category; - the number of award-winning spirits, overall and by category; - the list of the award-winning spirits and for each award-winning spirits information enabling the spirit and its owner to be identified; - the percentage of award-winning spirit in relation to the number of spirits submitted; - the number of awards attributed and their distribution per type of award. Organisers reserve the right to have an accredited analytical laboratory carry out an analytical control of award-winning samples and to deal with the results as they deem necessary. The owner and the organiser of the competition shall store, for a year as of the competition, a sample of each award-winning spirits, and, for five years, the entry form and its analysis report. These samples and their respective entry forms and analysis reports shall remain at the dispo- sal of inspection services. The FIWA SAS reserves the exclusive right to monitor the commer- cial use of the awards. ARTICLE 9 : FORCE MAJEURE CIRCUMSTANCES AND MODIFICATIONS If an event beyond the control of the FIWA SAS prevents the smooth running of the competi- tion, the FIWA SAS cannot, under any circumstances, be held responsible. The FIWA SAS reserves the right to cancel the competition, to alter the initial date, to shorten or to lengthen its duration or to modify the terms or the running order in the case of force majeure circumstances (epidemic, fire, strike, acts of terrorism, etc.), of any event beyond their control or if deemed necessary. The FIWA SAS liability cannot be requested by participants. In addition, the FIWA SAS cannot be held liable for any theft, loss, delay or damage during the transport of the samples. ARTICLE 10 : Any reproduction or representation, or alteration of the medal, the logo, the name or all or part of the elements on the Site is strictly forbidden without prior authorization. Any reproduction of the medals can only be done on authorization and can not be modified. In general terms, the company names, trademarks and distinctive signs reproduced on the Site or any other medium disseminated and developed by the FISA - FRANCE INTERNATIONAL SPIRITS AWARDS ® competition are protected under the trademark law. ARTICLE 11 : The rules are subject to the french law, the present language is the french language. In case of dispute or dispute with the FISA - FRANCE INTERNATIONAL SPIRITS AWARDS ® contest or the SAS.FIWA, and whatever the nationality of the parties in conflict, the Tribunals of Nanterre (France) are the only ones competent. ARTICLE 13 : PARTICIPATION IN THE COMPETITION Participation in the competition implies compliance with and acceptance of these rules. Entry fees shall not be refunded if the samples, the documents relating to entry and payment of the entry fees arrive after the entry deadline or at the wrong address. ARTICLE 14 : SPECIFIC PROVISIONS Official language: French. Documents available in French, Chinese, English.
