Invitation The Calgary Nor-Am follows the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup and the FIS Freeski &Snowboard World Cup Halfpipe Rodeo! WinSport and Freestyle Canada are pleased to invite all experienced competitive athletes to attend the Halfpipe & Slopestyle & Big Air Nor-Am, February 5-9 2022. RULES The event is sanctioned by Freestyle Canada, FIS, and is organized by WinSport in partnership with Freestyle Canada. The competition is comprised of three events—Halfpipe, Slopestyle and Big Air. All athletes participating in the HP/SS/BA Nor-Am at WinSport’s Canada Olympic Park must have a valid FIS license issued under the authority of their national ski association. Saturday February 5, 2022 Halfpipe / Slopestyle Open Training Sunday February 6, 2022 Official Halfpipe / Slopestyle Training Monday February 7, 2022 Halfpipe Event / Official Slopestyle Training Tuesday February 9, 2022 Slopestyle Event / Official Big Air Training Sunday February 9, 2022 Big Air Event The Organizing Committee reserves the right to change the schedule.
General Information DATE AND LOCATION Competitions will be on February 5-9, 2022 at WinSport Canada Olympic Park in 22’ Halfpipe and the East Terrain Park. General Information REGISTRATION Entries must be received no later than February 1, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Athletes are welcome to register for multiple events. Entry fees (per participant) are as follows: 1st Event: $200 2nd Events $330 3rd Event $460 Registration for this event is available online, please CLICK HERE to register If further information is required, contact Colin Jefferies collin@freestylealberta.ski LIFT TICKETS Lift tickets will be available for purchase each day of training and competition at Guest Services. There are two options for lift tickets: 1) single day for $30 CDN/day + GST. There are no refunds with either option. To qualify for this competition pricing, athletes must appear on the registration list. Each competitor must have a valid lift ticket for each day of the event.
General Information COMPETITION OFFICE The race office will be in the Olympic Hall of Fame Theatre, located on the main floor of the east wing of the Frank King Day Lodge. All Coaches must check in and register there athletes on-site at the registration desk to confirm participation in the event andto pick up competition bibs. All individuals must wear a mask on Winsport premises Registration will be open on Saturday, February 5th at 9 a.m. The race office will be open February 5th-9 from 8 a.m.– 4 p.m. BIB DEPOSIT There will be a $20 CASH ONLY bib deposit. If a bib is lost or forgotten, there will be a $20 replacement fee. An athlete’s bib number must match event registration for judging and scoring. If you need to replace your bib, please ensure the on-site registration staff updates your entry information. Bibs must be worn properly for all on-site training and for the competitions.
General Information CANCELLATION REFUND POLICY If a competition is cancelled, $45 CDN will be refunded to each athletes registered for that event. An athlete will receive a maximum refund of $45 CDN per competition, even if she or he is registered in more than one event that is cancelled. If an event is rescheduled to another venue, a $45 CDN event entry fee will be charged to the participating athletes. ATHLETE INJURY REFUND POLICY If an athlete withdraws from the competition before the event entry deadline, they will be provided a refund (less applicable processing fee). After the event registration deadline, there will be no refunds a to an athlete even if he or she is injured. ICS-NAC 7.3 . If an event is cancelled due to weather or exceptional circumstances, no refund will be issued. The Organizing Committee has already incurred all the costs for the event.
General Information STATEMENT OF LIABILITY ACCIDENT INSURANCE All athletes, officials and other members of the regions who attend and participate in the event shall do so at their own risk. Every competitor is required to have his/her own medical and life insurance that is adequate and covers maneuvers being performed in training and competition, as well as a valid Freestyle Canada FIS membership. The Organizing Committee, Freestyle Alberta Freestyle Canada, WinSport and WinSport Canada Olympic Park shall not be responsible for accidents, damaged or lost equipment and belongings and/or second or third-party claims during the staging of the event. All participants are to protect and safeguard their personal belongings at all times. ACCIDENT INSURANCE Every competitor must have his/her own medical insurance in accordance with the FIS ICR rule 204.2. The Organizing Committee, sponsors, suppliers, WinSport’s Canada Olympic Park, Freestyle Canada, Freestyle Alberta, Canada Snowsports Association, sponsors, suppliers, their agents, employees and volunteers and FIS declines any responsibility for accidents, damaged equipment and second and third-party claimsduring the staging of the event.
General Information HALFPIPE, SLOPESTYLE AND BIG AIR HEAT FORMAT Ski Halfpipe will consist of best of 2 runs qualifications and a best of 2 runs final. Ski Slopestyle will consist of best of 2 runs qualification and a best of 2 runs final. Ski Big Air will consist of best of 2 runs qualification and a best of 2 runs final. The jury can determine the format, based on the number of competitors in the qualifications by gender and time schedule. This decision must be made before and will be announced at the first team captain’s meeting. SCHEDULE The Organizing Committee reserves the right to change the schedule of events from those stated in the program. *Note: The schedule is subject to change and will be posted at the race office each day. VOLUNTEERS If you would like to volunteer for this event, you must hold a valid membership with Freestyle Canada. If you don’t already have membership, you can sign up at Freestyle Alberta Volunteers for this event will be contacted through Freestyle Alberta.
