In 1999 Fire Safety 2000 discovered a need to offer continuing education to fire officials, architects and engineers in the field of life safety and fire code enforcement. We were able to develop educational programs and services designed on current technological methods and uses in today’s world. The staff members of Fire Safety 2000 have a combined 36 years of professional experience in the fire service and maintain many state, multi-state and national certifications. Our staff members serve on the executive board of the Michigan Fire Inspector’s Society and are active members of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Fire Safety 2000 offers professional and time efficient reporting of project submittals, thus minimizing timely project costs and delays. The following information on our services is offered to prospective clients such as insurance, law, architect, engineering and contracting firms in addition to building owners and governmental agencies. Services Code Consultation: Our staff has a combined 55 years of experience in code enforcement and development. The principle partners are active on state and national code development committees and are very experienced in code interpretation and application. Our staff can provide consultation on the following national codes and standards. (BOCA, ICC, NFPA, Southern and Uniform) Plan Review: Our staff has reviewed projects as large as 1,200,000 square feet and is experienced in all aspects of occupancy classifications (Ordinary, Light, High and Extra High Hazard). Our staff is very experienced in current fire suppression, alarm and detection system design and operations. Inspection Services: Our staff maintains current state, multi-state and national certifications in the field of fire inspection. The principle partners have vast experience in inspection principles and practices and have conducted professional inspections on all types of occupancies. Public & Corporate Fire Emergency Planning: Our staff offers consultation to public and corporate sectors in the development of disaster and emergency evacuation planning. This planning includes large-scale high-rise to industrial occupancies. Fire Suppression and Detection System Acceptance Testing: Our staff offers concise consultation for acceptance testing and reporting for all types of engineered fire suppression, alarm and detection systems in compliance with NFPA 12, 12A, 13, 13D, 13R, 17, 17A, 20, 22, 24, 25, 72, all of 231 documents and 2001. Professional Training: Our staff offers continuing educational training and speaker services for professional organization’s seminars, conferences and fire service training programs. Fire Alarm and Detection System Operations and Plan Review How to Establish Successful Relations With AHJ’s Fire Suppression System Operations and Plan Review Fire Cause and Origin Investigative Practices Hazardous Materials (Awareness & Operations) Anti-terrorism for First Responders CPR and First Aid Training Fire Cause and Origin Investigation: Our staff has investigated the cause and origin of fires for over 500 incidents. These incidents include residential, commercial, industrial and vehicle fires. Our staff maintains active membership affiliations with national organizations such as the IAAI and has received nationally accredited educational training. Our staff has been qualified as expert witnesses and utilizes investigative practices consistent with NFPA 921. Our staff strives for accurate and concise reporting within 72 hours upon receipt of assignments. 2015 Fee Schedule Plan Review Schedule 1. Sprinkler System: Fee is based on the total number of sprinklers: Number of Sprinklers Pipe Schedule Hydraulically Systems Calculated Systems 1 to 20 $155.00 $215.00 21 to 100 $205.00 $335.00 101 to 200 $250.00 $455.00 201 to 300 $275.00 $515.00 301 to 500 $390.00 $695.00 Over 500 $390.00 plus .55c $695.00 plus .95c for each sprinkler for each sprinkler over 500 over 500 50% off the above fees for office and mall tenant areas that have had the base building typical tenant area system previously reviewed by our office. Minimum fee of $205.00 per review. 2. Fire Detection and Alarm Systems: Basic fee for a complete system: $0.035 per sq. ft. of total building area. Partial systems: $0.025 per sq. ft. of total building area for systems that do not contain a total building area detection system. Partial system: $0.023 per sq. ft. of total building area for supervisory protection of the sprinkler systems and duct detection. Minimum fee of $230.00 3. Life Safety Plan Reviews: The fee is based on the total square footage of the building. Minimum fee of $230.00. Fore special use buildings, add 50% to the base fee. No additional charge for typical floors of a building. 4. Standpipe Systems: Basic fee: $205.00 per standpipe. No charge for standpipe systems that are part of a complete building sprinkler system plan review. 5. Gas Suppression Systems or Dry Chemical Systems: The fee is based on the total pounds of Suppression Agent used. Pounds of Suppression Agent Fee 1 to 50 $215.00 51 to 100 $275.00 101 to 200 $295.00 201 to 300 $315.00 301 to 400 $335.00 401 to 500 $355.00 501 to 750 $395.00 751 to 1,000 $455.00 Over 1,000 $455.00 plus .33c For each pound of Agent over 1,000 6. Restaurant Wet Chemical Systems: Restaurant system: $255.00 flat rate per hood system. 7. Performance Based Code Reviews: We will evaluate the design; the computer programs input data, and results. FS2000 will make recommendations and/or require corrections to the submittal to meet the municipalities’ requirements, MBC, ICC and NFPA codes; and the computer programs more conservative input data. Fee: $110.00 per hour. 8. Procedure: All fee costs include a primary plan review and a second review. Any project requiring more than the primary and second review are billed at our hourly rate of $95.00 per hour. Inspection services are not included with this fee schedule. Inspection services are available for a fee of $95.00 per hour. All plan reviews will be done in 10 to 20 working days. 9. Rush Plan Reviews: Rush plan reviews will be done within a turn around time of one (1) to three (3) days maximum. Add 50% to the base fee. Plans returned next day mail The plan review letter will be faxed or emailed back. Consulting 1. Fire Protection Consulting/Inspections: Municipality $95.00 per hour Non – Municipality $125.00 per hour Mileage Fee .56 cents per mile (IRS standard mileage rate) 2. No services will be provided on a contingency basis for matters involving litigation. Professional Training: Based on training request and may be negotiated.
