Welcome Odense Skating club welcomes you to our summer camp. The camp is divided into two five day periods. The first period is from July 18th 2018 to July 22rd 2018, and the second period is from July 24th 2018 to July 28th 2018. The 23th is a resting day, and only private lessons practice on that day. Camp Training The camp fee includes two ice practices for each group – and one dance class or off-ice practice each day. Private lessons and making of new programs, is not included. Skaters are divided into advanced, intermediate, and lower level beginners. Group practices for advanced and intermediate on the ice will be coached by Clair Ben Zina and Andrew Place. Beginners camp will be coached by Dasha Podtelejnikova, Pernille Sørensen and Karolina Sykorova. During those practices skaters will be working on their skating skills, edges, presentation, spins and jumps. Skaters will be able to have snacks, breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks on the ice rink between the sessions. Beginners group will be having two practices on ice with a coach and off ice activities with our instructors. Parents will be able to leave kids from 7.30 in the morning up to 13.30, the kids will be provided with snacks and lunch. List with the names in each group and the schedule of practices, will be sent shortly after the deadline for signing up. Private lessons/ Making of programs There is a possibility of private lessons of 45 minutes, with one of our coaches. Fee for private lesson is EUR 40. If two skaters share a coach for one lesson they share the cost. All skaters need an ice pass, for each private lesson on the ice, even if they share the coach. The price for each ice pass is EUR 10. Schedule of private lessons will be sent shortly after closing the deadline. Private lessons are paid for at the skating rink. Ice passes are also paid at the rink. Camp Fee Advanced camp: Camp fee is EUR 300 per 5 day period, Camp fee for both periods is EUR 600. Beginners camp: Camp fee is EUR 200 per 5 day period, Camp fee for both periods is EUR 400. The camp fee must be paid to our bank account by June 1st 2018. Please state the name of the skater, when paying camp fee. The camp fee includes practices and meals at the skating rink. Extra ice passes and private lesson fees are paid at the rink. Refunds Registration is binding. The fee will only be returned, if a skater cannot attend for a valid reason, such as injury (doctor’s certificate needed). Cancellation must be done before the start of the camp. Responsibility Skaters must be insured themselves. We do not take responsibility for injuries, lost property etc., sustained during the camp Skating Rink The ice stadium was built in 1999, and the complex also consists of a training rink and VIP facilities. The skating rink is situated 3.5 km from the town square of Odense.
Transportation Public buses are going from the train station to the skating rink on a regular basis. City bikes can be rented near the train station or town square. All food is home cooked meals. Hot dinner is served evenings. For lunch both hot and cold dishes will be served. Meals are healthy and salad will be served for both lunch and dinner. Beverages are included with the meals. The skater’s families can buy their meals as well. All meals are included on the advanced camp, breakfast and lunch are included on the beginners camp.
Facilities In addition to serving meals, the VIP facilities are used for showing movies, and for various activities for accompanying family members etc. .
Coaches The practices will be conducted by the following coaches. Clair Ben Zina is a internationally Qualified Coach and has 40 years experience as International competitor & Coach. Clair is educated as Technical Specialist in Canada. Specialize in choreography, jump technique and skating skills. Clair Ben Zina Andrew Place is 4 times British Champion and competed at Olympian 1992 Albertville Games. Andrew is an international Coach and coaches Singles & Ice Dance and is ass. Technical Specialist in Iceland. Specialize Harness work & Off Ice strength & Conditioning for figure skaters. Andrew Place
Dasha Podtelejnikova has skated from she was 4 to 20 years old. In that periode she reached to be national champion twice. She has been coaching for 1½ year and is currently a part of the team of coaches in Odense. Dasha is educated technical specialist. Dasha has also danced ballet for many years therefore she is dance instructor during the beginner camp. Dasha will be coaching both weeks during the beginner summer camp. Dasha Podtelejnikova Pernille Sørensen has been skating since she was 2,5 years old and this season she was national champignon for the sixth time. She participated at Europeans in January 2018. Pernille is a part of the team of coaches in Odense. Pernille will be coaching the first week of the beginner summer camp. Pernille Sørensen Karolina Sykorova is from Slovakia where she has been national champignon the seven times. She participated in several junior grand prix and at junior worlds. Karolina is a part of the team of coaches in Odense. Karolina will be coaching the second week of the beginner summer camp. Karolina Sykorova
