VCCLGA News February 2021 By Susan Tisdale & Kathy Rosbrook Ventura Country Club Ladies Golf Association News The VCCLGA wishes to thank Pat Bak and Joyce Bordo who served as Tee Hostesses for the 18-Hole League in January 2021. Tee Hostesses for February 2021 are Donna Bloemker and Judy Tencza and the games chosen for February are as follows: 02/04 - Low Gross/Low Net; 02/11 – Points; 02/18 – Best Ball of 3 with Handicap - Scramble; 02/25 – Throw Out 1 Hole (Hole picked in Pro Shop). Our goal on Thursdays is to be on the tee box ready to golf promptly at 8:30 AM. Reminder - Please observe COVID Rules: wear masks in the clubhouse; maintain social distancing in the clubhouse, on course at tee boxes and putting greens; & wash hands or use hand sanitizers regularly. Go to the podium in the pro shop to check in before meeting in the library. When our group is too large for the library, we will meet outside the pro shop near our golf carts as we did last spring. Tee Hostesses will assist you there. 9-Hole News The 9-Hole golfers wish to thank Donna Milbauer and Phyllis Schilling for serving as our Tee Hostesses in January 2020. On January 4, 2021, the 9 Hole Ladies met before playing golf to give out Awards from the 2019-2020 Season because the Spring 2020 Luncheon was canceled due to Covid-19. Board of Directors Meeting December 10, 2020 Ventura Country Club Community Homeowners’ Association, Inc. Approved 1.28.2021 Directors Present: Dan Lees Dick Therrien Aaron Runzel Tom Holmes Paul Morency Mike Westerveld Keith Armstrong Directors present via telephone: Petur Sigurdsson, Alan Amer Also Present: Gabby Ramos – Community Association Manager Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM by President Dan Lees. All Directors being present either in person or by telephone, quorum was established to proceed. Written notice of the meeting was posted on property on December 8, 2020, at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting in accordance with Chapter 720 Florida Statutes. Announcement by Dan Lees that three positions on the Ventura HOA Board of Directors will become open in February 2021, and five candidates have nominated themselves to run for election: Caroline Hartman, Anthony Ceglia, Peter Spudich, Richard Therrien and Joseph Navarro. A “meet the candidates” question & answer session is scheduled for January 6, 2021 in the clubhouse ballroom at 7:00PM. Dan Lees inquired if there were any additional nominations from the floor. No additional nominations being offered; Paul Morency made a motion to close nominations; second by Tom Holmes; passed unanimously. ARC Committee report given by Tom Holmes. Motion by Tom Holmes to approve architectural modification applications #7.1 – 7.19; Second by Aaron Runzel motion passed 8 to 1 (Mike Westerveld abstained from vote) Motion by Keith Armstrong to transfer $100,000 from operating to reserve in a form of a loan; Second by Tom Holmes; passed unanimously. Motion by Allan Amer to renew Ventura current Health Insurance policy and to continue current payroll employee contribution; Second by Tom Holmes; passed unanimously. Easy Pizza Pinwheels Recipe Corner Ingredients: -1 can Refrigerated Crescents (or Pizza Dough) -1/4 cup pizza sauce or marinara -3/4 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese -Pizza toppings of your choice Directions: -Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cover a cookie sheet with foil and spray lightly with cooking spray. -Lightly flour a large wooden cutting board.
