The City of Euless election will take place on November 3, 2020. The City of Euless will
hold a candidate election for City Council for the places of Mayor, Council Member Place 2
and Council Member Place 4, as well as a special election. Below is a listing of the candidate
names listed in the order they will appear on the ballot. Flip to page 17 for early voting
schedule!

The City of Euless will also hold a special election to allow voters the opportunity to vote on
the following proposition related to the Crime Control and Prevention District.
PROPOSITION A - Whether the Euless Crime Control and Prevention District should be
continued for twenty (20) years and the Crime Control and Prevention sales tax should be
continued for twenty (20) years.
proposition b - On February 25, 2020, the Euless City Council called an election regarding
an ordinance imposing scheduling and pay requirements for employers with more than 200
employees in the City. This ordinance was not proposed by the City Council or City Staff.
In accordance with Article IV, Section 3 of the Euless City Charter, an initiative petition was
submitted to the City Secretary on January 17, 2020 proposing the ordinance. The initiative
petition was signed by a sufficient number of qualified voters, triggering the requirement
under the City Charter for the City Council to consider the ordinance. During the City
Council meeting, the City Council chose not to adopt the proposed ordinance. Therefore,
according to the City Charter, the City Council called an election for November 3, 2020 to
allow voters to determine whether the proposed ordinance should be adopted. This special
election will be held in conjunction with the Federal, State and local elections. A copy of the
proposed ordinance can be found online at www.eulesstx.gov/elections or can be mailed to

Serve up fire safety in the kitchen

Fire Prevention Week is Oct. 4-10, but fire prevention takes place all year long. Since
the clowns won’t be able to visit each school in person this year, tune into the Euless FD
Facebook page (@EulessFireDepartment) to watch a special episode of Clown Perfekt as
Seatbelt the Clown teaches Res-Q and Pepe fire safety tips at the fire station. There will be
daring kitten rescues, unskilled home renovation projects, and clown recipes for disaster in
the kitchen. Maybe it’s a good thing the clowns were quarantined this year.
The heb 2021 youth in government
The Youth in Government is a cooperative effort between the HEB Chamber of Commerce
and the cities of Hurst, Euless, and Bedford. This program was developed to engage students
in city government and community involvement. Applicants must live in Hurst, Euless or
Bedford and be a junior or senior in high school by January 1, 2021.
Classes will be held on Mondays from 5:30 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Transportation will not be
provided and meetings will be held at various locations in HEB. A light dinner will be
provided.

Here is your chance to join in your toddler’s introduction to the world’s most popular sport.
You’ll participate in fun, age-appropriate activities, and help your child to develop their motor
and socialization skills. Each week, the coach introduces and demonstrates several soccer-
themed games over Zoom. Adult participation is required.

We are now hiring indoor lifeguards and swim instructors!
Are you looking for a fun, exciting and rewarding position as a lifeguard? We are now hiring,
experience preferred, but not required. Apply now online @ eulesstx.gov/employment. For more

The following guidelines are in place for the safety of our patrons and staff:
• Fitness swim only (no slides, or kiddie area access)
• Lap swim will be limited to 30 minutes per guest
• Three lap lanes open / Resistance pool open (limited capacity)
• Everyone entering the facility must comply with a temperature check. Anyone with a temperature
over 100.0 will be prohibited from entering.
• Social distancing must be practiced. Masks must been worn on pool deck.
• Members must register prior to using the facility.
• Due to the limited number of available time slots, if you are unable to fulfill your reservation,
we ask as a courtesy to other members and our staff that you contact the Recreation Center front
desk at 817-685-1666 so that we may be able to offer it to another member.
• Repeated no-shows for reserved time slots may result in your inability to book future reservations.
