In the month of July alone, CITY OF TALLMADGE COUNCIL MEMBERS we replaced playground equipment at Lions Park 633.0856 Clerk of Council, Susan Burton and Washburn Park, had a Gagaball Pit installed President of Council, Carol Kilway at Lions Park and started our Spinning Studio Ward 1, Craig Sisak renovation at the Recreation Center. We also plan Ward 2, Becky Allman to upgrade our PA system at the Recreation Center Ward 3, Mary E. Tricaso this year. Ward 4, Carol Kilway The most exciting project we are working on is an At-Large, James M. Donovan updated Master Plan for our Parks and Recreation Department. We have At-Large, Dennis Loughry not updated this document since 1980, so it needs a lot of work! TALLMADGE REC CENTER MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION Age Policies – All children ages 12 and under must enter the facility with a parent or guardian. The parent/guardian must remain in the facility at all times. Children ages 10-12 do not have to be in the immediate vicinity of their parent/guardian. For example, a parent could work out upstairs while their 11 year old played on the basketball court. In order for all children to use any area of the facility other than the child care area, they must have a valid membership. Children ages 10-12 must have their membership card on them at all times in the facility. Children between 1 and 4 years of age – Children this age are included on the parents’ membership at no extra charge. There is a child care charge if the parent has a blue membership. Child care is included in the gold membership. Child Care Fees – A child care pass can be purchased at the front desk. There are two (2) different types of passes to choose from. CHILD CARE AND CAMP ACTIVITIES Before & After School Care Before & After School Care offers a safe place for school age children ages 5 through 13 years old during the school year who attend Tallmadge City Schools. Children must be enrolled in Kindergarten through 8th grade. If the child attends Before School care, he or she must leave the facility via a Tallmadge City School bus. If the child attends the After School care, he or she must arrive at the facility via a Tallmadge City School bus. Children may be dropped off as early as 6:30 a.m. and may be picked up as late as 6:30 p.m. The Before & After School Care Program at TRC now includes scheduled activities, including fitness activities, organized group games and homework/quiet time. Important Concussion Information Ohio’s “Return to Play” Bill went into effect April 26, 2013. The bill is designed to increase concussion awareness and recognition in parents, coaches and officials in youth sports programs. All Tallmadge Recreation Department coaches and youth sports leaders are certified in concussion awareness and recognition. YOUTH AND ADULT SOCCER LEAGUES Competitive Indoor Soccer League Schedule Register Early. Deadline for Session I is October 15, 2018 or when league is full. Deadline for Session II is December 21, 2018 or when league is full. All leagues may have ‘alternate’ days of play used as needed to complete their schedule. There will be a coaches meeting at the Recreation Center prior to the start of the season. Coaches meeting is mandatory for youth & high school league coaches. *Schedules will be available four (4) days prior to start of the league. Some divisions may play on more than one set day to accommodate additional teams. Requirements & guidelines for League Division Choice: • Youth players may play up a division, but are not permitted to play down a division. • Girls may play in boys division (age appropriate), but boys are not permitted to play in a girls division. • High School divisions - all players must be currently enrolled in high school. No one older than a HS Senior & younger than U14 may play in this league. Teams must have a concussion-certified parent on the bench at all times during game play. AGE GUIDELINES US Soccer rules state the player’s age will be determined by the age the player will be in the year the season ends. SESSION I • Age for youth leagues will be determined as of December 31, 2018. Example: If the player turns 11 years of age during the year 2018, they must play in the U-12 division. • For adult leagues, players must be the minimum age by December 31, 2018. SESSION II • Ages for youth leagues will be determined as of December 31, 2019. Example: If a child turns 13 in the year 2019, they must play in the U-14 division. • For adult leagues, players must be the minimum age by December 31, 2019.
