The Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation, Inc. presents FAB The Fine Arts & Beyond Showcase 2020 - Butler Intermediate High School
Auctions & Artwork The Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation, Inc. 4:30pm Student Art Bidding Front, rear, and side hallways As an independent non-profit organization, The Golden Tornado Gift Basket Raffle Library Scholastic Foundation, Inc. has been dedicated to enriching, Cornhole Madness Game of Skill Front hallway enhancing, and supporting the Butler Area School District's public 50-50 Raffle Front entrance education system for over 20 years. Its membership is comprised of Face Painting Rear hallway volunteer school and community leaders dedicated to supporting the Kids Crafts Cafeteria B educational programs of the district. 7:00 Student Art Bids Close 7:15 Basket Raffle and 50-50 Raffle Close The Foundation’s endeavors include providing Creative Teaching 7:30 Drawing for Baskets and 50-50 Raffle Grants and other awards for creative or unique educational projects, funding scholarships for graduating seniors with financial need, and purchasing technology. The GTSF also sponsors the Kids' Weekend Backpack Program and community events such as the Fine Arts & Beyond (FAB) Showcase and the Tuff Tornado Run that raise funds and the profile of public education in the Butler Community. Performers & Demonstrators Student Artwork Exhibit Master of Ceremonies Tyler Friel The works of 400 students from grades seven through twelve are on Demonstrating Artists Ryan Benedetti, Dan Coleman, Eric Lunn, exhibit and available for purchase. The art on display was selected Zandria Hall, Tom Panei, Lisa Sten from the student submissions for this event by the members of the Butler Area School District’s art department. Kids’ Weekend Backpack Program The staff, parents, and community of all K-4 schools in the BASD, as well as the Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation, have come together to help fight hunger. The Kid’s Weekend Backpack Program is designed to assist students who may be in need of weekend food supplies. Though it seems hard for most of us to imagine, many students go home to a house with little or no food supplies. They may Suggested food items for donation include: single-serving cereal, receive breakfast and lunch at school during the week, but when the granola/cereal bars, instant oatmeal, pop tarts, Easy Mac, ramen noodles, weekends come, they are limited as to how much they may have to tuna, canned chicken, soup, fruit cups, applesauce, pudding, sandwich eat. The STEAM Room Due to the generous donations over the past decade, The Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation, Inc. has spearheaded a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math program at the High School. The STEAM Room is a leading facility of its type in the state. Students in multiple classes utilize the room’s innovative technology such as laser engravers and a 3D printer, which prepare students for the quickly changing technological climate in which we live. The STEAM Room is directly supported by the EITC Tax Credit Program. Tuff Tornado Run Tenative date Saturday, October 3, 2020 1pm to 4pm, Alameda Park Check our website in July for sign-up information A 2-mile fun run with 20 obstacles for all ages!
