Fellow explorers, your wait will soon be over. They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder. Well, after a long year far from the continent we love, we can personally attest to the truth in those words. Which is why we couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming ’21 – ’23 seasons. The world is opening up, and Antarctica is ready to welcome us back. After an undisturbed year and a half, we fully expect this wild continent and its natural inhabitants to be more spectacular than ever. Rest assured, we haven’t spent the past year sitting on our hands, waiting for the world to return to normal. We’ve been working non-stop, planning and fine-tuning every detail of every phase of our upcoming season, preparing for every possible health and safety scenario ( Covid Protocols Pages 10 & 11 ) and making sure that even after ten years of exploring this unique and unforgettable part of the world, this year will go down in Polar Latitudes history as our best ever. We can hardly wait. Thank you all for your patience and understanding. It’s been a long and difficult pause, for sure. But it’s almost time to pull that heavy-duty wool sweater out of the closet, take inventory of your camera gear (and maybe treat yourself to a new accessory), and lock in that vacation time. Explorers, it’s time to get back to exploring. See you on board. John McKeon President and Founding Partner, Polar Latitudes On the cover: Humpback Whales create a "bubble-net" to help them capture Krill. (510) 420-1550 | 3
We are all explorers From the moment we’re born, we’re born to explore — devouring the incredible world around us, seeing, touching, feeling ... looking for any and every way to indulge our boundless curiosity. Adulthood and the distractions of modern life have a way of making us forget that. Antarctica has a way of making us remember. At Polar Latitudes, everything we do, we do with a spirit of exploration in our hearts, and with Antarctica front and center in our minds. When you journey with us into this wild and untamed place, you become more than a traveler; you become, once again, an explorer — in every sense of the word. We deliver a small ship experience that offers a more close-up, personal, and often life-changing engagement with the land and wildlife around us. We embrace a spirit of improvisation and childlike wonder as we seek out unique opportunities, whenever and wherever Antarctica offers them to us. And our expedition team is chosen for both their skill and their passion. We believe they are second to none in both. Our ships emphasize a range of amenities that enhance and enrich — rather than detract from — the Antarctic experience. Since the term “cookie- cutter” doesn’t exist in our vocabulary, each ship brings its own personality to the experience, which you can read about later in the brochure. What they won’t be bringing? Some of the glitzy toys and constant onboard diversions that a few other ships will be carrying into Antarctic waters. That’s by design. On a Polar Latitudes voyage, we are all explorers. And what explorers come to Antarctica for is Antarctica. Why would anyone want to be diverted from that? Join us on the trip of a lifetime. Indulge the inner explorer in you, as you discover the last wild, unpopulated, undisturbed place on planet Earth. Along the way, you might even discover yourself. (510) 420-1550 | 5
Throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. — Mark Twain (510) 420-1550 | 7
Our penguins are cuter than their penguins That sounds ridiculous because it is. And therein lies the difficulty in deciding which Antarctica-bound travel company to trust with your bucket list holiday. Browsing through websites, the similarities are hard to miss: photos of majestic icebergs and incredible wildlife (including universally cute penguins) assurances of highly experienced onboard staff and expedition teams, first class food and accommodations and, of course, a strong emphasis on safety. But if all that is true (and for the most part it is), how does one decide? Well, here are five things that are of particular importance to us. If they’re important to you too, then we’ll see you on board. 1 We only travel to Antarctica. And we’ve been doing it for decades. It’s what we love, and we don’t share that love with a dozen other places around the world. When people travel with us, they feel that passion, and they benefit from our deep knowledge of a continent unlike any other. 2 We are founder owned and operated. We are not a gleam in the eye of a hedge-fund manager, and we are not part of a giant hospitality operation. We do this because we couldn’t imagine doing anything else. You may even see one of our owners on board, or guiding you on your next Zodiac adventure. 3 We offer a small ship, highly-personalized experience. There’s no “herding,” no early and late dinner shifts, no endless waiting for your turn to board a Zodiac. On a Polar Latitudes voyage, we’re all one team, and Antarctica is an intimate, personalized experience we share together. 4 You’ll feel like family. We hear this all the time from departing passengers, and we love it. On board, you’re not just a passenger, you’re a fellow explorer. Your dinner tablemates might be expedition leaders, photography coaches, our whale-tracking partners from Woods Hole, or even our President, who still travels with us several times a year. By the end of your journey, you’ll know us by name, and you may even make some new friends for life. 5 Our staff is better than just great; they’re engaging. We believe our staff, top to bottom, is the most experienced, most skilled team in Antarctica. But we also hire for the things that don’t appear on most resumes. A passion for exploration. A desire to be part of a team. Fun to be around. And a love for passing their love of this incredible place on to everyone around them. When an expedition team is out of sync (and it happens) it’s not just bad for them, it’s bad for you, too. (510) 420-1550 | 9
The Polar Latitudes S.H.I.E.L.D. .I.E.L .H . S D . We understand that even as the world opens up, health remains a lingering concern and therefore for us, it will continue to be a major priority. To ensure the safety of everyone on board – while maximizing your once-in-a-lifetime Antarctic experience – we will be instituting what we’re calling The Polar Latitudes S.H.I.E.L.D., a deep and multi- faceted program developed by our team of medical and operations specialists, with guidance from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). Here’s what our S.H.I.E.L.D. currently entails, though some details may change. S – Science-Based. All our policies and procedures, from pre- departure to disembarkation, are made with the guidance of the best currently available medical and scientific information from around the globe. Should the data and science evolve, so too will our protocols. H – Health and Safety First. Every decision we’ve made and will continue to make, places the health and safety of our entire PL family as number one. All crew members, from captain to kitchen staff, will be trained on the latest Covid safety protocols. I – Immunizations. Everyone on board must be fully vaccinated with documentation issued by the vaccinating authority. Seasonal flu shots are also recommended, to avoid any confusion regarding symptoms. E – Evaluating and Testing. Every traveler must provide documentation of a recent negative Covid test before joining the group, and travelers will be re-tested upon arrival at our hotel. If deemed necessary, a third test may be administered upon boarding. L – Layers of Protection On Board. Upgraded ventilation systems will provide circulating fresh air in each cabin, and all other onboard spaces will be sanitized nightly. The layout and passenger capacity of Seaventure allows for easy social distancing, and hand sanitizer stations will always be within easy reach. D – Dedicated to Your Experience. The Polar Latitudes S.H.I.E.L.D. is designed to keep you safe and put your mind at ease, while making only the slightest – and hardly noticeable – program changes. Once we set out for Antarctica, rest assured your entire focus will turn to the penguins, whales, spectacular panoramic vistas and, of course, that very first iceberg sighting. For the most up-to-date S.H.I.E.L.D. Policy details, please visit polar-latitudes.com/covid-safety/ (510) 420-1550 | 11

Beauty and seduction, I believe, is nature's tool for survival, because we will protect what we fall in love with. — Louie Schwartzberg (510) 420-1550 | 37
We come to explore. We also come to protect. As our co-founder John McKeon is fond of saying, no one will fight to protect what they’ve never even seen. Conversely, to see Antarctica is to love it, to be moved by it, to want to preserve it. So, we view every journey as an opportunity to send back into the “real world” 100-plus advocates for this incredible – and incredibly still wild – place. It’s why we host world-renowned climate scientists from institutions like Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, why we were the first Antarctic travel company to have a Citizen Science Program on board every voyage, and why we were proud to host Homeward Bound - a worldwide Woman’s Leadership in Science program. From minimizing fuel consumption per passenger, to updating our waste management systems to the highest standards possible, to the tiniest details like issuing every passenger a reusable water bottle, we are committed to protecting the last wild place on earth, and inspiring others to do the same. 38 | WWW.INCA1.COM

CITIZEN SCIENCE Polar Latitudes Citizen Science Program Citizen Science is a way to harness the power of travelers to observe, record, and report on natural phenomena. This is particularly helpful in the Antarctic, where it is challenging to support long-term academic observation teams. Guests on Polar Latitudes voyages are invited to participate in data-gathering activities that support major research projects. The data we collect contributes to a better understanding of Antarctica’s unique ecology and changing climate. Our new ship Seaventure will boast a brand new science lab! The lab will serve as a home base to visiting scientists on board and enhance participation in our citizen science programs. The projects offered may vary slightly by voyage. If you are interested in participating please see the onboard daily bulletin and join the scheduled Citizen Science Introduction Meeting at the start of your voyage. There is no additional cost to participate.
