However, you should always call ahead to confirm dates, times, location, and other information! Exciting Groups Good Life Group via Zoom: Come join the fun Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 5:30pm-6:45pm. The Good Life Group works on Self Advocacy skills and engaging in community activities. This group is designed to assist people to think about what they want in their life and break that down into management steps to start moving toward their vision of a Good Life. Ages 18 years or older. We will be spotlighting an Inclusive Business. Art Inspired Academy: Art Inspired Academy class schedule is now out for April-June 2021. All classes will be over Zoom. Please do not sign up for a class unless you are confident that you will be able to attend regularly at that time. Registration begins March 3, 2021. Registration is first come, first serve. It's minimal interaction but maximum fun! We have ceramic projects that are ready to be your next masterpiece! There are a variety of project options - just call or email to schedule a pick-up time. Jordan Valley Ice Park (Public Skate), Daily with times slots verying from hour and half during the week and hour sessions on the weekend. 417-866-7444 for open sessions or check out facebook. $6 for Adults and $5 for Seniors 55+ and students or children 3 and up + $3 Skate rental fee. Annual passes are also available. Dickerson Park Zoo, Daily 9 am-5 pm. $15 Adults and Teens, $12 Adults 60+, and $10 for Children 3-12. There is a group fee for groups of 15+ and a military discount as well. Most parking is free. Info Hotline is 417-864-1800. Check out the zoo website for classes for children toddler up through middle school and volunteer opportunities as well @ http://dickersonparkzoo.org Cruse Dog Park, Daily Sunrise-Sunset (except Thursday due to mowing) Cruse Dog Park is the first off-leash dog park in Springfield, Missouri. Officially ‘unleashed’ in November, 2008, the park is a 6-acre, fenced facility for dogs to go off-leash to run, play, socialize and exercise. There is a 4 1/2-acre section for large dogs and a one and a half-acre section for small dogs. Annual fee of $35 per dog (no more than 2 per person). Please note you must provide a current Certificate of Vaccination for Rabies, rabies tag number and pet medical records from a licensed veterinarian documenting current vaccinations for Parvo, Distemper, and Bordetella. Dog park is located at 1069 S Wabash behind Walgreens. Hotline 417-864-1804 or phone 417-864-1332. Paperwork must be completed before entering park with your dog. May 12-Aug. 25: Generation Pound--A youth-oriented program that fuses movement and music to improve focus, coordination, physical fitness and teamwork skills. FREE/Member, Daily Fee/Non-member. June 5-July 31: Run for Fun Club--Hop into summer with free kid-friendly creative exercise activities, promoting healthy lifestyles and getting kids running. Choose from an assortment of boats, including solo and tandem kayaks, Old Town canoes, and stand-up paddleboards available a first-come, first-serve basis. Life preservers are provided and required. Must be 18 yrs. to rent boats. All boats must be returned the launch area by 5 p.m. Lake Springfield Park 891-1550. 3 yrs. and up (Ages 3-5 allowed in only canoes, with a guardian. Ages 6-13 must be with a guardian. Ages 14-17 may command their own boat accompanied by an adult.) April 15-Oct. 15, Mon.- Sat., 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; Sun., 11 a.m.-4 p.m. FEE: $10/hour solo kayaks and stand-up paddleboards; $12/hour tandem kayaks and canoes. Rented boats must be returned each day one hour prior to boathouse closing, no rentals after 4 p.m. The facility offers 17-foot canoes, single and tandem kayaks and paddleboards. Fees are $10/hour or $30/four hours for single kayaks and $12/hour or $36/four hours for tandem kayaks and canoes and include life jackets and paddles. Accessible Bikes -- The Springfield-Greene County Park Board’s Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park is home to three accessible bicycles designed for individuals with disabilities. The bikes are available for free check-out at the Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park gift shop, for use at the park, 3825 W. Farm Road 146, and on the Wilson Creek Greenway, which runs through the park. The park is open Tuesday-Sunday, 9 a.m.- 5 p.m., closed Mondays. Cyclists must sign a waiver, and are not allowed to remove the bikes from the park or the Wilson’s Creek Greenway. Helmets are required and provided. For more information about bike availability, contact Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park at 417-837-5949. Now-October: Fishing Pole Rentals--Take the kids fishing in our one-acre stocked fishing pond. Hourly fishing pole rentals available in our gift shop include every you need: pole, bait, and tackle. Fishing is catch and release only, no keepers, and a license is not required. 9 am-3:30 pm daily @ Rutledge Farm Park. $5/Hr with equipment rental: $1.50/Hr with your own equipment; $1.50 for extra bait. Sundays: Gray/Campbell Farmstead Open House--Visit with volunteer docents to look inside historic buildings and learn more about life in the Ozarks in the 1860s.
