On 15 March the Legio XIII Gemina commemorates the conspiracy against Gaius Julius Caesar
Gaius Julius Caesar was assassinated on 15 March of 44 B.C.
This date is historically known as "the Ides of March".
Wednesday 15 March 2023 Rimini wants to commemorate the historic event in the place where tradition tells that
Caesar had harangued the legionaries of the XIII Gemina Legion after the passage of the Rubicone river.
The ceremony includes the deposition, by the "legionaries", of a laurel crown at the foot of the 'Suggestum'
located in Piazza Tre Martiri, the place where more than two thousand years ago Julius Caesar pronounced the
famous phrase "ALEA IACTA EST".

Let's support talent: Dance review at the Galli Theater
An evening in honor of June K. Gallagher, the historic founder and director of Arabesque Dance Center.
The indelible mark that this artist has left on the Rimini scene is recognized by all those who had the privilege of
meeting her, and even today many of the local and national dance operators admire her person and her art.
For this tribute, June's alumni, (now professional dancers themselves, choreographers, teachers, artists,
directors), and former colleagues have enthusiastically and generously re-enacted or revisited excerpts from her
extensive repertoire as well as devised previously unreleased works.
In fact, June Gallagher is not only a dancer and teacher, but a brilliant and innovative choreographer and an
inexhaustible source of inspiration. Over the years she had a role as a true protagonist in the main Italian and
European dance events of her generation.

Fogheraccia organized by the Tourist Committee of Viserba
On the occasion of Saint Joseph's feast, fathers day, the tourist committee of Viserba presents a ‘fogheraccia’, a
traditional bonfire on the beach, symbol of the end of a cold winter and of the arrival of spring.
A show especially for children, who have fun in front of the fire, in which the last moments of the past winter are
"burned".
For the occasion, Viserba become animated from 7.30pm with food stands and music on the Pascoli square.
In case of bad weather, the event is postponed to Friday 24 March.

On the occasion of Saint Joseph's feast, the tourist committee of Torre Pedrera proposes a ‘fogheraccia’ , a
traditional bonfire in the area of the Church of San Giovanni in Bagno.
An opportunity to gather around the traditional bonfire and take part in a moment of celebration.
Just as our grandparents once threw old things and scraps into the fire to leave the cold winter behind, you are
invited to write or draw, on a piece of paper, your thoughts, fears or things you would like to disappear. Then you
can hang your paper on the Tree of Wishes, prepared with dry branches, that will be burned in the fire all
together.
During the evening a corner is set up with blankets and pillows where adults and children listen to stories about
the country, its traditions and anecdotes.
In addition, you can enjoy music, dancing around the fire and marshmallow skewers to be cooked over the flame.

The ‘fogheraccia’ – St. Joseph bonefire

The traditional bonfires on the free beach in piazzale Boscovich
That of ‘fogheraccia’ is a very ancient custom, a propitiatory rite for an abundant harvest, which is linked to the
Roman calendar, according to which the year began in March, dedicated to Mars, god of agriculture, as well as of
war .
This rite greeted the beginning of the agricultural year with the lighting of bonfires made of brushwood, straw and
what remained of the previous year's crops together with dry branches deriving from pruning practiced in view of
the summer.
Here in Romagna the preparation of ‘fogheracce’ has always been a ritual in itself: the peasants lit fires to burn
the pruning while in the days before the anniversary, young people, children and the elderly, collected objects no
longer used, old furniture, rags and piled them up to make bonfires. In Romagna they are traditionally calledEVENTI

Focheracce or Fugarine di San Giuseppe, because they are held on the occasion of the feast of St. Joseph and of
all fathers.
These were moments of village aggregation, as Fellini masterfully describes in "Amarcord", which are still alive in
the soul of Rimini. As a matter of fact, every year, in the evening of March 18th, Rimini celebrates the feast with
the traditional bonfires often accompanied by music, donut and mulled wine, without forgetting the typical piadina.
The biggest bonfire in Rimini is on the free beach in Marina Centro, near the canal port area. Here from the
afternoon a market of various kinds animates the promenade with colorful stalls (from around 5 pm). Turning on of
the fogheraccia at about 9 pm.

65 frames of the film painted in oil on wood and canvas by Agim Sulaj, an Albanian artist who moved to Rimini,

"amarcord", the memory of his childhood linked with that of Fellini's Rimini, so much so that he thinks he has

At Princess Turandot's court, suitors who fail to solve her riddles are brutally killed. But when a mysterious prince

transition
K.EY 2023 takes over from KeyEnergy and presents itself for its first edition in Rimini, as an independent event
from Ecomondo. It is a European exhibition of renewable energies, a complete showcase of technology,EVENTI

integrated solutions and service that aims to contribute to the energy transition.
20,000 visitors are expected from abroad and over 28,000 m2 of exhibition space. 6 thematic areas:
- Solar:Solar Exhibition and Conference (SEC), the exhibition area dedicated to photovoltaics and storage;
- Hydrogen: Technologies and projects for the production and storage of hydrogen;
- Wind: Technologies and services for the construction and management of onshore and offshore wind energy
production plants;
- Mobility: electric and sustainable mobility, from recharging infrastructure to interconnected mobility services;
- Efficiency: Energy efficiency and storage in the industrial and building sectors, with technologies and services
available to companies to optimize their energy consumption and reduce their carbon footprint;
- City: Sustainable City, the special project dedicated to the transformation of cities according to the smart city
model.
Added to these is the Innovation Start up Area, a space dedicated to Italian and international green innovation.
K.EY also envisages the involvement of a Technical-Scientific Committee chaired by Professor Gianni Silvestrini
and made up of institutions, industrial associations, technical-scientific associations, bodies and foundations.
During the three days also events, conferences, debates and workshops aimed at exploring aspects related to the
world of renewables and the energy transition at national and international level, also from a regulatory point of
view.
The fair takes place simultaneously with DPE 2023 - Distributed Power Europe, the European fair dedicated to
innovations in systems and components for the generation and distribution of electricity.

European trade fair dedicated to innovations in systems and components for the generation and distribution of
electricity.
DPE is the European Electrical Power System trade fair: a showcase for the countries of Europe, the
Mediterranean and the Middle East for generation, distribution, security, storage and electrical automation.
The ideal fair to discover the latest technological innovations concerning systems and components for the
production and distribution of electricity.
Many exhibitors in the sector (generators, industrial engines, lighting towers, static and dynamic UPSs,
alternators, transformers, storage systems, conversion systems, static and dynamic power factor correction
systems, control panels, LV and MV equipment and switchboards, cables and distribution systems, mechanical,
electrical and electronic components, engineering and technical consultancy services).
At the exhibition, it is possible to meet national and international buyers, distributors, designers, installers and

Rimini Marathon 2023

8th edition
The Rimini Marathon is back, the great national and international sporting event that involves an entire city,
touching the most characteristic and evocative places and squares.
In addition to the 42 km marathon and the 21 km half marathon, there are: La Ventina 20 km, Family Run 6 km,
Kids Run 1 km.
Also this year the national gathering of wheelchair "pushers" will be re-proposed, or groups that make disabled
people experience the thrill of a marathon, pushing wheelchairs for all 42 kilometers.
The marathon village is set up at the Arco d'Augusto, where, in addition to collecting the race package, there are
exhibitors from the sector.

Opera Season 2023 of the Galli Theater
La Bohème by Giacomo Puccini is one of the two masterpieces of musical theater of the 2023 Opera Season of
the Galli Theater. Puccini's opera is inspired by the novel by Henry Murger and is the first title of a program which
will then continue in the autumn with the Verdi's opera 'Don Carlo'.
For La Bohème, direction and scenic design are by Cristina Mazzavillani Muti, who brings the story of fragile Mimì
to the stage of the Galli Theater, of the love that overwhelms her and Rodolfo, and of the disillusioned dreams of
the young and dishevelled artists who surround them.
On the podium of the Luigi Cherubini Youth Orchestra Maestro Nicola Paszkowski with the Municipal Theater
Choir of Piacenza directed by Corrado Casati.
The protagonists of the opera are the soprano Juliana Grigoryan (Mimì), the tenor Alessandro Scotto di Luzio
(Rodolfo), the soprano Alessia Pintossi (Musetta) and the baritone Christian Federici (Marcello). The cast is
completed by Clemente Antonio Daliotti, Andrea Vittorio De Campo, Fabio Baruzzi, Graziano Della Valle and Ivan
Merlo.

The staging was born as a production of the Alighieri Theater in co-production with the Galli Theater of Rimini.

Theater Season of prose and dance 2022/2023 - ABC shifts
'Lazarus' is the title of the surprising rock-work conceived and wanted by David Bowie shortly before his death,
written alongside award-winning Irish playwright Enda Walsh, inspired by Walter Tevis' The Man Who Fell to
Earth.
Lazarus, which premiered Off-Broadway at the New York Theater Workshop on December 7, 2015 (Bowie's last
public appearance), offers a sort of sequel to the story of the unhappy interstellar migrant Newton, forced to stay
on Earth.

International youth football tournament at the Romeo Neri Stadium
Rimini becomes a meeting point for teams from all over Europe, who meet in Rimini for the International Youth
Football Tournament, organized by Tropical Coriano.

For the Easter weekend, Rimini will be besieged by the 'flying saucers' of Paganello, the Beach Ultimate World
Cup, or rather the sport of frisbee played on the sand.
A great edition is expected again this year, with teams from all over the world.
