The year has raced to an end, some hoping to bid it farewell and others looking back with fond memories. It was an interesting year, with electricity not as much of an issue as many expected; water much more of an issue than planned for; security systems not yet fully sorted out; speeding, noise and pets still aggravating those not guilty. Over the festive season it is hoped that each and every resident, owner, employee, contractor and visitor will have a safe, joyous and responsible time with loved ones. Best wishes for a magnificent 2020!! Brendan Olivier From the general Manager 4

SAVING WATER TIPS Mulch your garden beds by covering them with organic material: leaves, grass cuttings, pine needles, sawdust, wooden bark etc. This will reduce the amount of water lost by evaporation. Move towards an indigenous, drought-resistant garden. Indigenous trees are hardier than their imported counterparts and use much less water. They can also survive long periods of drought. Only water your garden after the sun has set and when it is necessary. Watering your plants during the day means that most of it will evaporate, wasting water. Use grey water – the water from your tub for example and collect rain water for irrigation. gardening: FActs and Hints 7
