The Rally Day chairs will organize a planning meeting for parents of the honorees before each event to coordinate efforts. SENIOR VIDEO / CANDID PHOTOGRAPHY Chairs: Mary Kathryn Bass, Chris Cole, Tiffany Fleckenstein, Brad Matthys, Ashley Mattocks, Amanda Neuhoff, Kerry North, Julie Powell, Kelly Yandell For the 2020-2021 school year, ESD is launching a new photo sharing platform called Vidigami. Photos will be available for free downloads, including pictures from class-wide social events and school-related events like AP Art Shows, Musicals and Performances, Athletic Signing Days, PVSA, Honors Award Ceremony, Homecoming, Grandparents' Day, First Day of School, Cum Laude, Pass It On and Graduation, etc. Vidigami’s facial recognition feature is perfect for those making scrapbooks. Stay tuned for more information from ESD Communications on how to access Vidigami. Parent photographers will also have the ability to upload to Vidigami. Forward them to one of the photographers listed above or to Kate Voss at vossk@esdallas.org. We will continue to use Flash Photography for on-campus events like Blue and Yellow Shirt Day, Rally Days, and other special event days, which are run by the Special Events Parent Committee. Flash photos are available for a small cost. A highlight at the Senior Parent Dinner is a video compiled from these photos. We encourage you to share with other parents and to help our photographers ensure that all students are represented equally. Group photos, ESD performances, and sporting events, and senior event photos are also encouraged. SENIOR PARENT DINNER Chairs: Heather Esping, Anne Hobson When: May 19, 2021 Where: Brook Hollow Golf Club A year-end highlight, this coat-and-tie dinner honors the Seniors and their parents. All content in the blurbs must be school appropriate, cannot include acronyms or slang, etc. Violation of this will result in a possible loss of privileges. Seniors must submit their baby photos by November 1. A Google folder will be shared with parents and students to do this. Seniors will provide their electronic signature during decided Flex times in October. YEARBOOK DEADLINES August 31: Deadline for portrait sitting (page 9) September 21: Deadline to submit 10 photos and text for yearbook ad (page 11) November 1: Deadline to submit senior blurb and baby photo (page 10) 10
YEARBOOK AD Contact: Ana Rosenthal, Upper School Journalism Teacher (469) 317-8652 | rosenthala@esdallas.org The yearbook has been revised recently to ensure inclusivity for all Seniors in the community, meaning each Senior is provided a complimentary one-page ad. No additional pages are available for purchase and group ads are no longer accepted. To have a senior yearbook ad created, you MUST submit a flash drive with the following by September 21, 2020: PHOTOS • 10 photos (no more and no less) electronically saved at 300 dpi resolution. NO screenshots from the internet will be high enough quality. If photos of poor quality are submitted, they will not be used. Physical photos are no longer accepted. If you have physical photos, take them to Walgreens or CVS who can convert them into electronic files. • Please select photos that have similar color tones (this looks the best). AD TEXT • The text for your senior ad can be saved in a word document. Text cannot exceed 100 words and cannot use copyrighted material, which includes song lyrics, lines from movies, etc. WHERE TO DELIVER • The flash drive can be included in an envelope with your students’ name and must have ALL materials–extra photos can’t be submitted after the deadline, so please plan senior shoots accordingly. Please drop this off at the front desk. You will receive a proof of the page designed for your student from one of the Senior Ad Editors: Anna Baranski and Cleo Neuhoff. Each ad will be designed to the designated Yearbook theme. Colored page backgrounds are no longer used. Change requests that do not fit the theme cannot be made. Parents have a three-day window from the date of the email from a Senior Ad Editor to make any changes. Any requests made after that will not be granted. 11
