TEMPEST Testers Team Member Pre-requisite Course Summary of Course Objectives: To provide a theoretical and practical understanding of basic TEMPEST testing aspects to meet the requirements of the NATO SDIP standards and UK Guidance documents, before attending either a Product or Platform Team Member role course. Course Content: - Standards and policy - Signal and test parameters - TEMPEST test equipment familiarisation - Signal measurement - Automated testing and basic signal analysis Attendance Pre-requisites: Applicants must have a technical background in RF, Electronics and/or communications and must meet the Eligibility Criteria and Minimum Security Requirements as detailed in the Target Audience section – more information is available from the NCSC Enquiries team. Dates: 24th June 2019 – 4th July 2019 (9 days duration) 20th January 2020 – 30th January 2020 (9 days duration) Places per Course: 6 CPTAS TEMPEST Tester Team Member Course Summary of Course Objectives: To provide a theoretical and practical understanding of Platform TEMPEST testing of transmitter systems to meet the requirements of the NATO SDIP standards and UK Guidance documents. The course also includes an examination to meet the CPTAS Platform Team Member role requirements. Course Content: - Simple test matrices - TEMPEST test equipment familiarisation - Transmitter testing, measurements and analysis - Platform Facility Qualification Requirements - Platform Team Member theory and practical examinations at the end of the course Attendance Pre-requisites: Successful completion of the TEMPEST Testers Pre-requisites course. Applicants must also meet the Eligibility Criteria and Minimum Security Requirements detailed in the Target Audience section – more information is available from the NCSC Enquiries team. Target Audience Course attendance is conditional on both the Eligibility and Minimum Security Clearance requirements below (which must be verified by NCSC): Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible to attend you must be: - a UK citizen or citizen of a NATO/EU member country AND - employed by the UK or a NATO/EU member Government, another UK or NATO/EU member public body, or a UK or NATO/EU member private sector organisation that has a contract, on which you are working, with a UK or NATO/EU member Government department AND - working in a role that requires you to have access to NATO TEMPEST policy standards Minimum Security Clearance: Security Check (SC) or NATO Secret for nationals of NATO member countries or EU Secret for nationals of EU member countries. NATO and EU attendees must provide a supporting letter from their National Technical Authority supporting the request for attendance on the courses. Page 2 of 4
