This Easter we suggest a journey inspired by the adventures of Asterix and Obelix and
their singular companions, one of the biggest references in the collective imaginary of
every generation. The regional and international gastronomic specialties, the ancient
sporting activities and all the magic surrounding the cinematic adaptations of
Asterix’s adventures will be the theme for the four days at Malhadinha.
DAY 1
Thursday, April 14th 2022
ASTERIX AND OBELIX: GOD SAVE BRITANNIA
A journey through Britain’s Culture
03:00pm – Arrival at Herdade da Malhadinha Nova and welcome drink with one of our
wines paired with treats from our Chef.
04:00pm – Visit to the property and winery with wine tasting – Discover Malahdinha
with a pleasant visit to the Estate’s flora and fauna, visiting our winery and cellar on
the way.
05:00pm – Five o’clock tea inspired by the magic potions of the venerable druid
Panoramix – Discover the properties of the most energetic and powerful herbs with a
nice five o’clock tea paired by delicious homemade sweets.
08:00pm – English based dinner at the restaurant – Our Team of Chefs were inspired
by Her Royal Magesty’s Royal Menu, based on meats and other sustainable certified
products grown at Malhadinha Nova. A way to celebrate the Queen of England,
Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.
DAY 2
Friday, April 15th 2022
ASTERIX AT THE OLYMPIC GAMES
The Classic Culture and Epicurist Model immortalized in Ancient Greece
08:30 – 11:00am – Starting at dawn be delighted with Malhadinha’s breakfast, the
homemade bread, the orchard’s fruit, the fresh eggs and the regional products,
everything the start the day great.
THE OLYMPICS AT MALHADINHA
10:30am – Paintball competition at the Malhadinha arena – prepared to free all your
energy and adrenaline and win this battle?
01:00pm – Refill your energies with a nutritious lunch based on the fresh and organic
products on the Estate.
03:00pm – Tennis Tournament – Asterix and Obelix were dedicated to the practice of
a game in which a projectile was launched back and forth over a net, while his comrade
Tenniscourtix would advance the lines of the court in hieroglyphic form.
04:00pm – Bow and arrow tournament – Like Julius Ceaser army, the combat weapons
were arrows. Straighten your aiming in a bow and arrow competition among the
vineyard.
08:00pm – Dinner inspired by the Olympic Menu – In the agitation of normal life, food
generally becomes an afterthought. The epicurist way of life of Ancient Greece takes
us to adjusting our Way of Life to eating healthier and tastier meals, like our
gastronomic concept at Malhadinha – Farm to Table.
DAY 3
Saturday, April 16th 2022
Veni, Vidi, Vici
I arrived, I saw, I won
08:30 – 11:00am – Wake up to the morning freshness. Feel the first aromas and relish
in a breakfast complete with fruits, compotes and natural juices.
10:30am – Hunting and fishing experience – choose the activities that caters the most
to you and go out on an adventure around Malhadinha.
01:00pm – After the hunt nothing beats enjoying the scenery in a picknick in the oak’s
shade. Enjoy the snacks that the Chef prepared for you!
04:h00pm – Morning harvest inspired Cuisine Workshop – Present your harvest to the
Chef and learn its confection to recreate the recipe at home.
08:00pm – Thematic dinner at the restaurant – The game snacks like partridge, quail,
hare, rabbit or thrushes are the main elements of this dinner.
10:00pm – In the late night, enjoy a cinema session and be inspired for the last day at
Malhadinha, with the second film based on the French-Belgim comic “Astérix and
Obelix: Mission Cleopatra”.
DAY 4
Sunday, April 17th 2022
ASTERIX AND OBELIX: MISSION CLEOPATRA
The Ancient Egypt, the Culture and Values are the basis for the last
day of the experience
08:30am – Breakfast – Enjoy the best combination for a great start of day!
10:00am – Easter Egg huntiung mission – With the clues left by the Easter Bunny, the
children go in the search of the Easter Eggs hidden amongst Malhadinha’s vines.
01:00pm – Easter Feast – One of the tradition that goes back to Egyptian culture
since the time of Cleopatra is the Spring Festival. The Egyptians had the tradition of
commemorating spring on the shores of the Nile. They take with them picknick
baskets with traditional foods, reuniting the whole family.
And because Easter celebrates the start of new life, be inspired by the Spring Festival
of Egyptian Culture and enjoy a barbecue picknick with the typical and traditional
snacks of this Sunday by the vineyard.
