Higher Education- CAO Key Dates: L6- L10 NFQ • Apply online from 5th November- 1st February, 2021 • Application fee- up to 45 euro • Must include restricted application courses on course list by 1st February ( includes HPAT Registration for Medicine) • Tick HEAR/ DARE on CAO form by 1st February, 2021 if eligible • Complete online HEAR/ DARE form by 1st March, 2021 • Send in all supporting documentation for HEAR/ DARE 15th March, 2021
Higher Education- CAO Key Dates • April/ May: online entrance tests/ auditions etc • Late application closing date: 1st May, 2021 • 5th May- 1st July: Free online Change of Mind
Key points to completing CAO Application Form • Order of preference is essential • Two applications on one form- apply for up to 10 x L8: up to 10 x L6/L7 • Fully research all your course choices • Restricted application courses must be applied for by 1st February • Apply to HEAR and DARE if eligible

Key Features of an Apprenticeship • Industry-led • Leads to Levels 5–10 on the NFQ • Between 2–4 years in duration • Minimum 50% on-the-job learning • Flexible delivery – online, blended, off-the-job learning in increments/blocks • The State funds off-the-job learning • Apprentices are employed under a formal contract of apprenticeship • The apprentice is paid for the duration of the apprenticeship* *On apprenticeships in place prior to 2016 the State pays a training allowance to apprentices during off -the-job phases of their apprenticeship.
