  21 Tracing Your Windrush Ancestry
Paul Crooks is unique among Black History speakers
discussing engaging topics relating to the Black experience.
Through the lens of his pioneering research into Black
ancestry, Paul will discuss how he used passenger lists
records to search for his family tree and back story and how
passenger lists complement other sources of ancestry
              information.

Learn how You can use the Windrush Generation Passenger
Lists to explore your African and Caribbean history, fill a gap in
your family tree and bring your family’s Windrush backstory to
              life.

 6 Royal Visit to Ealing
Ealing Broadway shopping centre opened in 1984, after several
years of work and it transformed Ealing’s town centre. It was
officially only opened in March 1985 when Her Majesty Elizabeth
II arrived on her one official visit to Ealing. She was met by the
Mayor of Ealing and many well wishers. A plaque was unveiled to
mark the occasion and can still be seen.

Empathy Day aims to help everyone understand and experience the transformational power
of empathy through stories. Books can help us understand someone else’s feelings by
stepping into the shoes of the characters we meet and inspire us to put empathy into action.

On 9 June, Empathy Day live, is an online festival featuring a stellar line up of authors and
illustrators. Be prepared for a fantastic day of live events, including Cressida Cowell,
Jacqueline Wilson, Michael Morpurgo, Michael Rosen, Joseph Coelho, and a special Draw
with Rob Biddulph. The full line up can be found here.

In addition, throughout the week of 6 – 11 June, libraries will be including empathy stories
into their rhyme-time and story-time sessions, as well as offering empathy-based activities
      for children.
