4 MONDAY HISTORICAL SEEFELD A historical walk through Seefeld (10.12.18 - 25.3.19) Discover Seefeld from a historical perspective and learn about the Seefeld of today during an interesting winter walk through the holiday village. Together with state-certified tourist guide Alexandra Glatzl, explore the Gothic Parish Church of St. Os- wald, the Hotel Klosterbräu and Seefeld’s landmark, the Seekirchl church (exterior only). Dogs are welcome. The tour is carried out in German and English, and in Italian if requested in advance. When: 10:00 am Duration: approx. 2 hrs. 5 THE FASCINATION OF SNOWSHOEING Snowshoe hike up the Gschwandtkopf mountain - for beginners (10.12.18 - 25.3.19) Starting from Reith, our snowshoe hike takes us up a wide natural track to the top of the Gschwandtkopf mountain where you’re rewarded with breathtaking views of the Reither Spitze, Hohe Munde and Zug- spitze peaks. Food and drinks are available in the rustic Sonnenalm mountain inn. If required you can rent snowshoes directly from your guide (rental charge: € 6.00). Alternative: Winter hike up the Gschwandtkopf mountain. This activity is conducted in German and English. When: 9:45 am Duration: approx. 4,5 hrs. (incl. a stop for food and drinks - actual walking time 3 hrs.) 6 SNOW TUBING Great fun for thrill-loving families (31.12.18 - 4.3.19) This is one fun-packed activity that you definitely shouldn’t miss out on. On your tube, get set, go! Sit yourself down on a giant inflatable rubber tyre and whiz down a specially-prepared track with barriers on both sides. Use at your own risk. 7 WAXED TO PERFECTION Waxing course for classic and skating-style cross-country skiers in Leutasch (17.12.18 - 11.3.19) Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced cross-country skier, here you can learn all the key basics of waxing your equipment properly. The better your skis are prepared, the more enjoy- ment you’ll get out of cross-country skiing. During this course you’ll learn the correct waxing technique and receive invaluable information and tips from professi- onals on selecting the best wax depending on outside temperatures and the conditions and type of snow. Substitute date: Instead of Monday, 24.12.18 takes place Thursday, 27.12.18. This course is offered in German only. When: 5:00 pm Duration: approx. 2 hrs. 8 TUESDAY THROUGH THE SNOW-COVERED WINTER FOREST The magical Leutaschtal valley (18.12.18 - 26.3.19) Nature guide Hans Bantl takes you to some of the most beautiful, untouched spots in the Leutaschtal valley, such as Katzenloch. Hans affords you a deeper insight into the uniqueness of our Leutaschtal valley - a breathtaking hiking area at all times of the year - and offers valuable tips and sug- gestions to ensure you enjoy a truly unforgettable holiday. NB: Warm clothing and sturdy footwear are a must! 10 LEARNING BY DOING IN SEEFELD A lesson in Alpine-style curling (4.12.18 - 5.2.19) In-depth instruction in the correct technique and a brief overview of the rules - duration approx. 15-30 minutes - followed by team games (also suitable for children aged 12 and over). 13 GUT LEUTASCH BUTCHERY Manufacturing tour (19.12.18, 2.1.19 & 30.1 - 27.2.19) During this guided tour you can visit the various diffe- rent production areas and find out about the manu- facturing processes and our areas of specialisation. Protective clothing is provided and a small product tasting is included. Furthermore, you can take a look at the game storage room, the meat ageing facilities and the packaging department. 15 LANTERN-LIT WALK WITH ALPACAS Seefeld’s very own ‘teddy bears’ (6.12.18 - 28.3.19) Experience the enchanting atmosphere of the snow- covered forest and, by the glow of the lanterns, savour a magical walk accompanied by our woolly ‘teddy bears’ on leads. Marvel at the bizarre shadows created by the lantern’s shimmering light amid the sparkling white snow and enjoy the company of our wonderfully sweet-natured Andean animals. Back in the alpaca stables we’ll warm ourselves with glühwein and hot punch. A captivating night-time experience, perfect for families too. Night skiing in Seefeld (14.12.18 - 8.3.19, dependent on snow conditions) During the evening, you have the chance to be the first ones and the only ones on the immaculately groomed slopes of the Rosshütte ski area for an hour between 5:30 and 6:30 pm! The 6-seater ‘Hochanger’ chairlift with heated seats and bubble hoods is in operation until 9:30 pm and/or you can enjoy après-ski fun in the Skialm hut at the bottom station. This Nordic sport combines the disciplines of cross-country skiing and shooting. While cross-country skiing requires stamina and endurance, shooting demands concentration and precision - and biathlon offers the best of both worlds!
