DIRK VOLLENBROICH MI CORAZÓN EN SANTIAGO - Performance: Alex Marcelo Mora - © 2018 Dirk Vollenbroich // www.dirkvollenbroich.com MY HEART IN RIO / MY HEART IN BADEN-BADEN
MY HEART IN SANTIAGO / MI CORAZÓN EN SANTIAGO The sketched project MY HEART IN SANTIAGO is an interactive work by the media- / light artist Dirk Vollenbroich. The temporary installative illumination of the glass architecture in the top of the Gran Torre is thereby ‚live‘ coupled to the human heart rhythm. The performative or participative approach of the installation MY HEART IN SANTIAGO is realized with the help of medical technology either in the form of a mobile ECG or a mobile finger pulse-meter. In real time, the heart beat is optional transmitted by the artist from Germany, in performative inclusion of the collaborative visitors or the Chilean-German performance artist Alex Marcelo Jiménez Mora, who will wander through different regions of Chile. The intimate, hidden, quiet heartbeat, which is imperceptible to us but carries all emotions, is amplified a millionfold by MY HEART IN SANTIAGO and is widely visible on the top of South America‘s tallest buil- ding. As a connecting and simplified ‚Morse code of life‘, this highly visible rhythm immediately appeals to the viewer in the Santiago region and beyond. The building as an over-representative landmark and at the same time sculptural carrier of a human biofeedback, is humanized by the primordial rhythm, experiences familiarity through the unpretentious ON-OFF-ON_OFF (...) -illumination and contrary to its actual function of sublimity. Illumination Vertrautes und entgegen seiner eigentlichen Funktion von Erhabenheit nahbar. more information at * www.dirkvollenbroich.com

MY HEART IN SANTIAGO / MI CORAZÓN EN SANTIAGO MY HEART IN SANTIAGO - MY HEART IN BIG DATA The sketched project MY HEART IN SANTIAGO is an interactive work by the media- / light artist Dirk Vollenbroich. The temporary installative illumination of the glass architecture in the top of the Gran Torre is thereby ‚live‘ coupled to the human heart rhythm. The performative or participative approach of the installation MY HEART IN SANTIAGO is realized with the help of digital medical technology either in the form of a mobile ECG or a mobile finger pulse-meter. By the technically measuring of beating hearts simple appears visual similar waveforms and nearly identical rhythms. In a highly digital resolved view of a heart amplitude, it ispossible to measure a perso- nalized, biometrically, identifiable and authentifiable pattern. Any person has a characteristic heartbeat, like a fingerprint or an individual iris, which can be measured and assigned as a technical parameter. This also makes the ECG applicable as a key or safety parameter for many cryptological processes (...). (Source: Evaluation of Electrocardiogram for Biometric Authentication, Journal of Information Security, 2012 / below: Comparative image of the heart-specific amplitudes of 120 people ) Apart from the cryptographic consideration MY HEART IN SANTIAGO symbolizes an medial and social- sculptural landmark. The Gran Torre as the involved architecture of this media art work represants an image for a our days neocapitalism and symbolizes its tireless aspiration. Exact at this point MY HEART IN .. involves real hearts of different people of the population, regardless of their origin or social class, by placing their ‚signs of life‘ in the center of the artwork. The idea is based on the principle of equa- lity, as one of the most important prerequisites of democratic societies. The controversial impulse of this widely visible, live and performative public event wants the controversy about it, should emerge it and is inherent in the work. more information at * www.dirkvollenbroich.com Dirk Vollenbroich // Kamekestrasse 28 // Studio: Kamekestr. 24 // 50672 Köln / Cologne // mob. +49.162.8982540 mail@dirkvollenbroich.com
