Position purpose The Director of Sport and Activities oversees all sporting co-curricular programs in Years 7 to 12, as well as activities such as debating, chess, e-sports and clubs and societies. The main portfolios within the role are: 1. Strategy and leadership of sport and activities. 2. Staff development and recruitment. 3. Policy development, compliance and risk management. 4. Partnerships, pathways and advocacy. 5. Student participation and positive culture. Canterbury Taipans The taipan is the sporting mascot of Canterbury College. The eastern taipan has been spotted as close to the school as Logan Reserve. Its fierce disposition and ability to instil fear in adversaries make it the perfect symbol for our sporting programs which instil strength, pride and courage in our participants and athletes.
