The long awaited Oceanway was officially opened on 13th
January and is proving very popular with locals and tourists
alike. The new 1.7km path for pedestrians and cyclists
between Tugun and Bilinga is part of a continuous stretch
linking Currumbin and Coolangatta that includes new
seating, bike racks, path lighting, beach showers, new trees
and dune revegetation. The pathway is for everyone to enjoy
so please consider others with your bicycle speed, making
sure to ring your bell along the way. Congratulations to all
involved in securing this significant recreational promenade.

                            New Hotel for Gold Coast Airport
                                                                              The Gold Coast airport precinct is undergoing an
                                                                              exciting $500 million redevelopment featuring a
                                                                              seven-storey, 192 room Rydges Hotel due to open by
                                                                              mid-2020. This $50 million hotel project will include a
                                                                              rooftop bar overlooking Kirra Beach, conference and
                                                                              meeting facilities, restaurant, resort style swimming
                                                                              complex and connect to the terminal via a 70 metre
                                                                              plaza. The airport terminal will also be extended to
                                                                              become a three level structure that can accommodate
                                                                              aerobridges.

report it to Police. Some things may seem trivial and not worth reporting, however,
it may be you who provides police with that one piece of missing information that
helps solve a larger scale investigation.
