A Message from the Mayor Community Support Well where do I start? 2020 is definitely a year to remember. Delisle as well as the rest of Canada is still trying to cope with and accept the Covid-19 pandemic. It brought the complete country and world into uncharted waters. Delisle and Saskatchewan have been relatively lucky with this outbreak so there is a warm heart felt thank you to the Provincial Authorities for leading the way and providing strict guidelines in which we all have to follow and abide by. Please ensure we maintain the safety guidelines as they are brought forth. Even though as a community it wasn’t easy to accept the fact that schools, minor sports, parks, churches, etc. were discontinued or closed, it was something we as a community had to abide by. In saying this I personally would like to thank everyone for following the guidelines set in place. Get involved with your community. Volunteers are still working on the splash park fundraising. Get involved with the Recreation Association. Delisle Sports Dinner was a great success for the community. All of this takes volunteers so I thank all of the people who dedicate their time to make Delisle a great place to live. Our Town Council as well as the employees of the Town do a fantastic job for everyone. Make sure you say thank you when you see them. As we do repairs and or reconstructing complete streets please understand the decisions we make will affect the people of this community for the future. The Town is fully committed to spending money on proper street construction and there is a balance between proper spending with the amount of repairs required. Our Fire Department and First Responders do a fantastic job. They are always looking for members so support them anyway you can. 2020 is election year so I urge everyone to get involved and vote. If you feel you can offer lots to the community then put your name in for council. Positive people on council bring positive changes to Delisle. There have been many positive changes within the community and it takes everyone to continue with this approach to make Delisle a better place to live. 8 years I have now been the Mayor of Delisle. It has been a satisfying and rewarding experience. I can only thank everyone who has been part of the time I have spent representing Delisle. Delisle is in good shape for the future. 2020 has been a year of uncertainties so let’s see what the rest of the year may bring. All the best in the remainder of 2020 and into 2021. Dave Anderchek Mayor of Delisle 5

Leisure, Fitness & Sports Bowbusters Archery Club Bowbusters Archery Club was started in 2011 in Vanscoy, and currently has over 80 members. The Junior Olympic Program for kids ages 6-21 starts the beginning of November and goes to the end of March. In this program the kids shoot at distances which range from 10,15 and 20 meters. They have to shoot a specific score at each distance and when that score is obtained they receive badges. We get invited to 2 tournaments a year of which one is in Saskatoon at the Wildlife federation and the other one is at Viscount. This gives the kids the opportunity to experience shooting with different kids at different facilities. The indoor range is open year round to our members and the outdoor range is open from May to the end of September. We host 2 indoor 3D shoots, one in May and the Gib Hendersen Memorial in August. We will also shoot mail match once a week for 12 weeks from January until the end of March at Bowbuster’s and Thunderhead’s clubs. This is open to everyone who has a club membership and a Sask archery number.
