1. Abstract The video game industry has always attracted attention due to the great popularity of computer games in the 21st century. For many years, psychologists, sociologists, and other scientists have tried to figure out why people play games; whether it is an addiction, and whether it can be considered as an escape from real life. Today, most people realize that the video game industry is not just entertainment, but a very promising business niche, which is now open both to professional and beginner investors. Not surprisingly, the video games are booming. Some might mistakenly believe that it is only teenagers who play online games. However, statistics show that the average age of a gamer is 32 years. At the current stage of the industry development, casual players have real opportunities to turn their hobby into a profitable activity and to make money from their gaming skills. With an annual growth of more than 30%, eSports is one of the most dynamically developing markets. According to GamesIndustry.biz, the Worldwide eSports market is projected to hit $2.17 billion by 2023, with the audience growing to over 1 billion people, which will make it the number one sport of the future. Despite the rapid growth, this market segment has a lot room for improvement, with unmonetized gaming time being one of the main issues. Our team decided to address this problem by starting the Dominant Chain project -- an eSports tournaments platform, empowered by cryptocurrency as a new approach to monetizing the players’ time and passion. 3

The National Basketball Association prize pool is $13 million, the Golf Masters is $11 million, and the Confederations Cup is $20 million. eSports exceeds each of them with a total prize pool of $24.7 million. Thanks to eSports, in 2018, 61 people aged 16 to 30 years old became dollar millionaires. The highest earning of them (by prize money) is the German Kuro ‘KuroKy’ Takhasomi, with more than $4 million up to date; the youngest to surpass $1 million in tournament prize money winnings is Sumail Hassanfrom Pakistan, who earned $3,265,915 at the age of 18. 2.2.Opportunities and challenges With such an immense audience and revenue growth, eSports market has already attracted a number of prominent investors: ● Tencent has invested $15 billion in the eSports market in China over the last 5 years ● MTG Media Holding acquired ESL, the largest eSports organization for $86.4 million 5

Let’s consider some challenges that the players face to decide. First of all, it is quite challenging for a beginning player to get into professional eSports. There are various limitations and even stereotypes. Not every eSportsman can afford expensive gaming equipment, such as gaming computer matching the system requirements for the newest games, a gaming console, a keyboard, and a mouse with better response time, special chairs that do not affect the posture and reduce the load on the spine, etc. Cybersport can also be physically and mentally strenuous.
