ISSUE 11: 23/04/2021 Dear Students, Parents, Staff and Governors, When I reflect on this week, I have been delighted to observe how well our Year 11’s have conducted themselves in preparing and completing another round of assessments. Their positive attitude has been affectious throughout the school and their hard work will no doubt be acknowledged when they receive their GCSE’s results this summer. I would like to wish our Year 13 students the very best of luck for their forthcoming assessments which start next week. They are ideal role models when it comes to independent learning and I have every confidence that the next two weeks will allow them to continue to showcase their knowledge, skills and dedication as they complete their last formal assessments after 13 years of education. This week we start the process of electing the next Student Leadership Team. This is an important team that will help continue to improve NBS and also be voice of the student body. The current Student Leadership Team have been incredibly supportive in their term of office and although many of their ideas have not come to fruition due to the pandemic, they have been determined to finish the year of in true style and make an impact as they prepare for our KISS week which will now take place in July. Once the election process is complete there will be a feature in NBS NOW introducing the new student leadership team and acknowledging the contributions from the outgoing team. Finally, next week to ensure we protect the NBS integrity we will be conducting a uniform and appearance check on all of our students in line with our policy (this can be found in your childs Communication Book). Please ensure your child arrives to school dressed appropriately. We will indeed be acknowledging our best dressed students with House Points as well giving additional ‘wardrobe guidance’ in the form of an hour detention for those students who need the extra time to get it right. Please support us in our quest to remind our students of our expectations. On behalf of the staff I just want to thank you for the constant support you give this school community and I hope you enjoy the clement weather this weekend. God Bless and Stay Safe, Mr Declan Linnane
