Deakin University’s STEM Scholarships in Australia, 2018 The Deakin University is offering STEM scholarships for international students from selected nationalities Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate programme. Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded in the disciplines of Architecture and Built Environment, Engineering, Information Technology, Science or Environment. Scholarship Award: 20% of your student contributions (tuition fees) Eligibility: To be eligible students must: Be a citizen of China, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka or Vietnam Meet the entry requirements for their course, including English language requirements Maintain a weighted average mark (WAM) of least 65% during each year of study in order to maintain the scholarship for the following year (across 8 credit points) Be studying an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework Deakin degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Environment, Information Technology or Science. The Master of Science (Research) degree is also eligible. Nationality: Citizens from China, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Vietnam are eligible to apply. English Language Requirement: Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University. How to Apply: All students who apply for eligible courses will be automatically assessed for the scholarship and will be advised of the outcome. 2017 Master’s Scholarships in Logic and Computation at Vienna University of Technology, Austria Applications are invited for Master‟s Scholarships at the Vienna University of Technology. Scholarships support outstanding students to study in the Master‟s Program in Logic and Computation. Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing master‟s program. Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded in the field of Logic and Computation. Scholarship Award: The students who are awarded a scholarship receive €6000 annually, paid in installments. They are offered research fellowships for students who want to actively participate and contribute to research projects. The fellowships, which are compatible with the above scholarships and tuition fee waivers, are limited to the second year students of the program, and amount to approximately €440 per month. Eligibility: Application for a Scholarship or a Tuition Fee Waiver Students who meet the following conditions is eligible to apply: Bachelor‟s degree in Computer Science or Mathematics (Bologna first cycle) or equivalent degree Extensive knowledge and interest in (at least one of) the following areas: Logic in Computer Science, Databases, Algorithms, Formal Methods and Verification, Foundations of Artificial Intelligence, Complexity Theory and Computer Security. Nationality: Citizens of all nationalities are eligible to apply. College Admission Requirement Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have bachelor‟s degree in Computer Science or Mathematics. English Language Requirement: All international applicants for whom English is not the native tongue must provide proof of competence in the English language. Clarendon Fund Scholarships at University of Oxford Last updated: 04 Sep 2017 | Oxford University Press Masters/PhD Degrees Deadline: 8 Jan/19 Jan 2018 (annual) Study in: UK Course starts October 2018 Brief description: The Clarendon Fund is a major graduate scholarship scheme at the University of Oxford, offering around 140 new scholarships every year. Clarendon Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and potential across all degree-bearing subjects at graduate level at the University of Oxford. Host Institution(s): University of Oxford in United Kingdom Level/Field(s) of study: All degree-bearing courses at graduate level in any subject are eligible. This encompasses all full-time and part-time master‟s and all DPhil courses. Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma courses are not eligible for this scholarship. Number of Awards: Approximately 140 scholarships are offered every year. Target group: All students including international students Scholarship value/inclusions/duration: All Clarendon Scholarships cover tuition and college fees in full. Scholars on a full-time course receive a generous annual grant for living costs – which will be at least £14,553 for 2017-18. Scholars on a part-time course receive a study support grant to help cover their non-fee costs. The scholarships are normally offered for the full period for which you are liable to pay tuition fees to the University, which is usually the same as the length of your course. Eligibility/Selection Criteria: Clarendon Scholarships are awarded on the basis of outstanding academic merit and potential to graduate students from all around the world. Scholarships are tenable in all subject areas and are open to candidates who apply for a new master‟s or DPhil course by the January admissions deadline. Application instructions: If you apply for a full- or part-time master’s or DPhil course at Oxford by the January deadline for your course, you will automatically be considered for a Clarendon Scholarship. You do not need to submit any additional documents specifically for the Clarendon Scholarships – there is no separate scholarship application form. You do, however, need to apply before the January deadline (8 January or 19 January 2018) for your course if you wish to be considered for the scholarship.

Leiden University Excellence Scholarships (LexS) Leiden University Masters Degree Deadline: 1 Oct 2017 (annual) Study in: Netherlands Next course starts Feb 2018 Brief description: The Leiden University Excellence Scholarship Programme (LExS) is open to outstanding Non-EU/EEA students enrolling in a master‟s degree programme at Leiden University starting September 2017 or February 2018. Host Institution(s): Leiden University, The Netherlands. Level/Field of study: All MA, MSc and LL.M programmes as mentioned on the website Master‟s programmes in Leiden. Please note that some programmes have a start date in September only Number of Awards: The number and type of award of the scholarship depends on the budget available for each Faculty department. Target group: Non-EU/EEA international students Scholarship value/duration: The Leiden University Excellence Scholarship programme has 3 awards: • € 10.000 of the tuition fee • € 15.000 of the tuition fee • Total tuition fee minus the statutory tuition fee The LExS is only valid for the period the student is registered at Leiden University as a full time student within the time frame of the study programme. Eligibility: • Non-EU/EEA students enrolling in a Leiden University master‟s degree programme starting September 2017 or February 2018 • In his or her prior academic education abroad, the applicant must have achieved excellent study results which are relevant for the programme for which the student wishes to enrol. As an indication, the student will be among the top 10% for the relevant programme followed abroad. • The applicant will hold a non-EU/EEA passport and will not be eligible for support under the Dutch system of study grants and loans. • Scholarships will not be awarded to applicants who have already obtained a Leiden University master‟s degree with the exception of students applying for a Master programme for which a specified previous Master programme or work experience is mandatory (the LLM advanced masters qualify as such).
• Students who are granted a Leiden Excellence Scholarship must comply with and confirm in writing their agreement with the Rules and Regulations attached to the scholarship prior to the granting of the scholarship. Application instructions: You must first apply for admissions to Leiden University online. In your application, you must indicate clearly that you would like to apply for the LExS scholarship and upload your letter of motivation for the LExS scholarship on the scholarship page. For all programmes starting in September 2017, the deadline has passed last 1 February 2017 (except for Law programmes which has the deadline of 1 March 2017). For programmes starting in February 2018, the deadline is 1 October 2017. Scholarships are awarded to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full- time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge. Host Institution(s): University of Cambridge, United Kingdom Level/Field of study: PhD, MSc or MLitt, or a one year postgraduate course in any subject offered at the University Number of Awards: About 95 Scholarships are awarded each year. Target group: Citizens of any country outside the United Kingdom. Scholarship value/inclusions: A Gates Cambridge Scholarship covers the full cost of studying at Cambridge including tuition fees, maintenance allowance, travel costs, etc. It also provides additional, discretionary funding such as academic development funding, family allowance, fieldwork, etc. Read about the full scholarship value at this link. UNIL Master‟s Grants in Switzerland for Foreign Students University of Lausanne Masters Degree Deadline: 1 Nov 2017 (annual) Study in: Switzerland Course starts September 2018 Brief description: The University of Lausanne in Switzerland offers the UNIL Master‟s Grants on a competitive basis to international students who wish to pursue a Masters Degree at the University. Host Institution(s): University of Lausanne, Switzerland Level/Field(s) of study: All Master‟s programme from among those offered by the UNIL, except the following • Master from the School of Medicine • Master of Education • Master of Law from the Universities of Zurich and Lausanne • Master of criminal Law, magistracy specialism • All MASs (PhD programmes) Note: For the Master of Law, only two specializations – “international and comparative law” and “legal theory” are open to applications for Masters scholarships. The programme offers awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world to study for a master‟s degree in any subject at any UK university. Host Institution(s): Any university in the UK Level/Field(s) of study: Full-time taught Masters Degree Programme in any subject at any UK university Number of Awards: Around 1500 scholarships globally will be offered. Target group: The scholarships are targeted to citizens of Chevening-eligible countries. See the official website for complete list of countries eligible for Chevening scholarships. Scholarship value/inclusions: A Chevening Scholarship normally covers university tuition fees, a monthly stipend, travel costs to and from the UK, an arrival allowance, a homeward departure allowance, the cost of one visa application, and a travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK. Eligibility: To be eligible for a Chevening Scholarship you must: • Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country. • Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your scholarship has ended • Have an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry to a post-graduate programme at a UK university. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK • Have at least two years‟ work experience • Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of these choices by 12 July 2018 • Meet the Chevening English language requirement by 12 July 2018 Application instructions: Applications for Chevening Awards can only be submitted using the Chevening online application system, available through the „apply‟ button on your country‟s page.
