MASTER’S DEGREE RETURN TO PLAY AFTER SPORT’S INJURY PRESENTATION Risk factors and injury incidence are aspects that are becoming increasingly more important in sport. Furthermore, a large number of people who have suffered an injury do not receive specialized attention that would allow them to recover the capacities they had before suffering such injury. This Master's Degree aims to offer specific education for professional practice in RTP after sport’s injury, focusing as well on prevention plans, process of specific injuries and control and assessment of the RTP process. AIMS - To train the student in sports science oriented to understand the process of return to play of an injured athlete. - To provide theoretical and practical knowledge to fully develop the process of return to play of an athlete. - To train the student in the ability to search and analyse databases related to sports sciences. - To think critically about the knowledge related to the return to play of an athlete. - To have the capacity to carry out a bibliographic review of the return to play process and write a project linked to it. - To recognize the different injury mechanisms that occur in sport. - To know the injury characteristics in its harmful environment, its incidence and severity. - To know and identify the risk factors existing in return to play - To understand, from a socio-affective point of view, the injurious process of an athlete and to take it into account when interacting with them. - To have the ability to understand, assess and control the process of return to play through variables of the different valuation systems. - To analyse the particularities of each injury and the different sports modalities in the construction of a sports rehabilitation model. - To know how to plan and program a sports rehabilitation model for a specific area. - To have the capacity to execute, from a technical and practical point of view, the process of return to play to sports competition and health-oriented physical activity. - Prevent injuries in physical activity and sports. WHO THE COURSE IS FOR Graduates in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, physiotherapists, doctors and university graduates who wish to get specialized in an emerging area such as return to play (competition) or physical activity (health) after injury. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS University degree in Physical Education or Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, Physiotherapy or Medicine. Other graduates will be considered. PROGRAM 1. Fundamentals and complementary areas of return to play 2. Pathology, pathophysiology and harmful mechanisms 3. Injury incidence and risk factors for injury 4. Assessment and control of the rehabilitation process 5. Methodology applied to return to play 6. Planning and programming 7. METHODOLOGY Each module consists of theoretical and practical content. Theoretical contents: teacher presentations, analysis and documents discussion and group debates. Practical contents: analysis of practical cases, problem solving and work elaboration. Master's Paper (15 ECTS-375 hours): in order to obtain the master’s degree, the qualification of Apt must be obtained in a research project on a series of cases or in the development of a clinical situation in its phase of return to play. LANGUAGE English ASSESSMENT - Minimum attendance at 80% of seminar sessions. - Obtain Apt for the Master's project that will have been previously presented to the tutor. - Exhibitions in practical classes and seminars. - Online questionnaires about the different subjects. - Pass the theoretical exam related to the content of the Master’s. PREREGISTRATION AND ENROLMENT To register you must complete the registration form through the website (www.fundacioudg.org). Preregistration: From May the 1st to June the 14th, 2020. From the 26th of June, the allocation of places will be confirmed according to the following criteria: Grades from the academic records of the access studies for the Master’s and valuation of the professional experience and of the continuous education related to the Master’s. In the results evaluation, the two criteria detailed above will be added. In the case of remaining places, a second registration period will be opened, from July the 3rd to September the 10th, 2020, and the allocation of places to the preregistered will be informed on September the 18th, 2020. If, after these two preiregistration periods, there are still remaining places, the Masters’ governing board reserves the possibility of studying new cases. Documentation is to be submitted for preregistration (attached to the registration form), before June the 15th. - Curriculum Vitae (CV) and personal academic certification (CAP) or, the academic record from a university degree that will grant students access to this Master’s for students that will graduate in the academic year of 2019-2020.
