Welcome to Stanley Travel’s 2020 Day Trips brochure! Our UK Day Trip offering has expanded over the years and we are proud to provide such a varied selection of outings across the country. We have brought you new and exciting destinations mixed in with plenty of popular favourites, so we truly believe there is something for the whole family. For this year we have also introduced Buy 1, Get 1 FREE on selected trips. Day Trips are operated by our own fleet of modern coaches fitted with the latest features for your added safety and enjoyment. We welcome group bookings on all of our Day Trips. If you organise outings for social groups, clubs, WIs etc., we have special discounts available on most of our Day Trips for groups of 15+. To make the booking process easy for you we have outlined the pricing and joining points for each trip as well as a brief summary of what you can expect. We offer a comprehensive choice of pick up points around the local area and we endeavour to keep these to an absolute minimum so you can get to your destination without undue delay. New for 2020 - at your pickup point you will be given an Allocated Seat by the driver when boarding to ensure that you will be sat together with the rest of your party. Also, you have the option to Reserve Seats of your choice for an additional £5.00 per seat. All of our trips are available to book and pay for online at your convenience via our secure website, www.stanley-travel.com or by calling our office on 01207 237 424, between 9.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, where we will be happy to assist. There will be additional ad-hoc trips being added throughout the year for special interest events, these will be advertised on social media and added to our website as soon as they are released. March Adult NEW FOR 2020 MOTHER’S DAY £29.00 SUN ‘Vera’ Tour (A Must for Every ‘Vera’ Fan) Child £27.00 22nd Spend a day on the Northumberland coast; following in the footsteps of the brilliant DCI Stanhope, and the much-loved ITV drama ‘Vera’. This guided tour will take you to some of the most memorable crime scenes and some regular haunts of Vera, covering some atmospherically rural and beach site locations where the grisly murders took place. An action-packed day where you will have time to get off the coach to take photos of these locations. We will be making a stop en-route for you to take a break and have a bite to eat. So, grab your ‘Vera’ mac and hat because you are in for a great day out! This tour is fully guided and a video will be played on Route the coach showing you clips from the show that you C are visiting.

April SAT Harrogate Flower Show Adult 25th £37.50 Once again, we visit the world-famous Child Harrogate Flower Show, held in the Great £15.50 Yorkshire Showground. This popular flower show has been a favourite with our customers who return year after year to visit this prestigious event, which is one of the best of its kind. The show features beautiful show gardens, great shopping opportunities and Route the biggest exhibition by florists and flower A arrangers in the country. SAT Harrogate Town Adult 25th £17.50 If the Harrogate Flower Show isn’t your thing Child then why not visit the beautiful spa town £15.50 of Harrogate, with its historic buildings, beautiful gardens, shops, restaurants, and Route tea rooms? There is plenty to keep you busy A throughout the day! May SAT Edinburgh City or Edinburgh Zoo Adult 2nd £19.50 Take in Scotland’s capital city, Edinburgh, Child home of Scotland’s crown jewels, and The £17.50 Stone of Destiny, once used for centuries to crown many of Scotland’s kings. Edinburgh has a vast amount of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars and is always a popular destination with our customers. After dropping passengers off on Princes Street for the city visit we then continue onto Edinburgh Zoo, which is built on a hill across 84 acres, with views over the city. The zoo is home to over 1,000 rare and endangered animals including giant pandas, zebras, penguins, lions, tigers, anteaters, Malayan sun bears, and plenty more. We leave the zoo at 4:30pm and head to Route the city to pick up the rest of the passengers B at 5:00pm for our journey home.

Join us for a classic Child North East day out in the popular Yorkshire £17.00 seaside resort of Scarborough with its two bays and sandy beaches, split by the headland, and home to the 12th century Scarborough Castle. There are lots of things to do for all the family in this much-loved resort. You can visit Peasholm Park, the Spa, amusements, ice cream parlours, or the Route working harbour, or simply take a deckchair A and relax on the sandy beach. SAT Skipton and a Leisurely Canal Cruise Adult 9th £27.00 Come with us on our popular day out to the Child market town of Skipton, famous for its 900-year- £25.00 old castle, romantically ruined priory and historic cobbled streets. There’s time for you to stroll around the market before we head to the canal for an afternoon boat trip along a stretch of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. SAT The “New Borders Loop” & Adult 16th Afternoon Tea £23.00 Child Our first stop of the day takes us to the £21.00 beautiful market town of Alnwick, rich in history and dating back to 600AD. From here we stop by the small village of Etal, which lies on the bridging point of the River Till. Next up is the Teviot Smokery and Water Gardens, near Kelso, for afternoon cream tea. There’s time here for you to enjoy the tranquil setting before we make our journey Route home, travelling via Jedburgh and through D the Northumberland National Park.

In fact, why not be daring and brave the hair-raising rides at Blackpool Pleasure Beach? Or you could take things slow and explore the Grade II listed Stanley Park and the beautiful new promenade that makes the Golden Mile a pleasure to stroll along. Alternatively, enjoy a day out at Blackpool Zoo, beside Stanley Park. Home to over 1,350 animals from all over the world, including gorillas, orangutans, lions, tigers, giraffes, elephants, penguins, sea lions and many more. There’s plenty to explore and photograph at this hidden gem! We drop passengers off at the Zoo first, before proceeding into Blackpool with our seaside passengers. Return pick up times will be Route 4:30pm from Blackpool and A 5:00pm from the Zoo. SPRING BANK HOLIDAY MON Holy Island, Bamburgh Adult 25th and Seahouses £18.00 Child Our first stop for this trip is at the tidal island £16.00 of Lindisfarne which carries a wealth of history within its tidal walls. This peaceful setting, once the home of the Vikings and the ancient monks, is the birthplace of the Lindisfarne Gospels, one of the most precious books in the world. We continue our journey to the beautiful Northumberland Village of Bamburgh, home of the Grace Darling RNLI Museum and Bamburgh Castle. After a short stay, we continue to Seahouses, a fishing town where you can Route browse the shops or perhaps treat yourself B to fish and chips before our journey home.

September NEW FOR 2020 SAT Ambleside, Grasmere & Keswick Adult 12th £19.00 Our first stop of the day will be at Ambleside, Child a small town that has now become a £17.00 popular tourist resort. We then head off to Grasmere, famous for its gingerbread and popular because of its association with William Wordsworth, with most of its buildings dating from 19th to early 20th century. October - Admission Not Included - Admission Included SAT York or McArthur Glen Designer Outlet Tickets 3rd £20.00 If you imagine a city with Roman roots and a Viking past, York has it! With its huge 13th century Cathedral, York Minster, cobbled streets and city walls, York is a traditional city worth visiting. We drop passengers off in York then proceed to the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet for those passengers wishing to pick up a designer Route bargain. We depart the outlet at 4:30pm and A from York at 5:00pm. SAT Pickering 1940s Weekend Adult 10th £18.50 We return again for this popular day trip, where Child Pickering’s streets come alive with the 1940s £17.50 Route wartime theme. December - Admission Not Included - Admission Included SAT Manchester Christmas Market Adult 5th £19.50 Attracting shoppers from all over the UK and Child beyond, the Christmas Markets are spread out £17.50 across ten different locations around the city, each with its own character and atmosphere; no winter is complete without a wander through the Route chalet-lined streets of the markets. E Please Note: There are limited pickups on this trip. SAT Glasgow Christmas Market Adult 12th £20.00 We visit Glasgow for the Christmas Markets on Child George Square and St. Enoch Square where you £18.00 can enjoy delicious treats and a warming glass of Christmas cheer and, of course, purchase Route some extra-special Christmas gifts! E Please Note: There are limited pickups on this trip. SUN Gilsland Spa Christmas Party Adult 13th £40.00 We arrive at the Spa Hotel for 11:00am, with a coffee shop open upon arrival (not included Child in your package) for anyone requiring £38.00 refreshments before the day begins. Your party starts at 11:30am with entertainment by the resident compère and continues through until your three-course Christmas lunch is served. After lunch, there will be cash bingo until approximately 3:30pm and then you will be served complimentary tea and coffee, cake and biscuits. Your Route entertainment will continue until your C departure home at 5:00pm.
Additional Information Feeder Vehicles Feeder vehicles may be used to bring you to join the main coach or vice versa on your return. Please note that the feeder vehicle may be a coach, minibus or taxi. How to book my Day Trip? Booking your Day Trip couldn’t be simpler by using one of the following three options. 1. Online via our secure website at www.stanley-travel.com. You can choose your Day Trip, pay and print your ticket from this option. 2. Contact our Booking Office in the Bus Station, Stanley, by telephoning 01207 237 424 or by visiting the office in person where our staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have. 3. Visit one of our booking agents throughout the area. We offer a comprehensive choice of pick up points around the local area. Due to popular demand and new for 2020 is the option to Reserve Seats for an additional £5.00 per seat. Booking Conditions Alterations The company reserves the right to alter or cancel any Day Trip listed in the brochure, or to change the size or specification of the vehicle used. On occasion it may be necessary to allocate a vehicle smaller or larger than a ‘standard’ coach. Unaccompanied Children Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult of at least 18 years of age. Children under 5 years of age By law they must have their own seat to travel in, therefore, we are unable to offer free child seats. We have a policy whereby we do not permit babies in arms. Coach seats have a standard car type seat belt arrangement, so passengers are welcome to bring car seats/boosters. Passenger Conduct Stanley Travel aim as far as possible to ensure our customers have an enjoyable and carefree Day Trip, as such, you must remember that you are responsible for your own behaviour and hygiene and the effect it may have on others. If you or any member of your party is abusive, disruptive or behaves in a way which could cause damage or injury to others or affect the enjoyment of their trip, our driver or representative has the right to ask you (and/or your party) to leave the vehicle. Offending passengers will not be allowed to re-board, thus ending the contact of travel with ourselves, with no right for a refund or claim of liability against the company. Smoking (including e-cigarettes) Smoking is prohibited on all coaches under current UK law. Cancellation We endeavour to operate all of our Day Trips as advertised. However, if due to less than a minimum number of bookings, we are forced to cancel any Day Trip, we reserve the right to do so up to two working days prior to departure. All monies paid by passengers will be refunded or offered another Day Trip. Following this, we shall be exempt from further liability. Errors & Omissions Although every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information contained within this brochure at the time of printing, we cannot accept any responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions. It is advisable to check with us that your Day Trip is definitely operating before booking your attraction admission tickets. If there is any loss incurred as a consequence of a Day Trip being cancelled, Stanley Travel will not be held responsible for customers’ pre-purchased admission tickets.
