DANCE NEWS October 2020 | Page One MDA WELCOME BACK! Welcome back to MDA! We had an exciting first week! After Dates to Remember MDA DATES TO REMEMBER months away, it was so nice to have everyone back in the studio. Thanks to all the dance families for your patience as we work out a few kinks and for following all the safety measures we have in place. If you have any suggestions or problems please let us know. We are here to help! HANDBOOKS AVAILABLE IN THE PARENT PORTAL Columbus Day Handbooks were already sent out via email. If you didn't get Monday, Oct. 12 that email, let us know. You can also access the handbook at MDA will have classes any time in the parent portal. Click on the shared files, the little musical notes icon .choose the "2020-2021 Newsletters and Handbook" file. From there you can choose the handbook or any of the newsletters. THERE IS CLASS ON COLUMBUS DAY Marietta Dance Academy will have classes on Columbus Day, Monday, October 12. As a general rule, MDA is always open on Monday holidays. In the fall semester, we will close Wednesday and Thursday of the week of Thanksgiving. Aside Competition Team from that, we are here dancing! The fall semester finishes on Bath Bomb Fundraiser December 17 and we'll take a couple of weeks off to celebrate Ends Wednesday, Oct. 21 the holidays before returning in January, 2021. MDA GETS SPOOKY Fall is here and that means Halloween is drawing near! In years past we've used Halloween week as a chance for dancers to bring a friend. Unfortunately, that won't happen for this year's Halloween celebration. We are still brewing Halloween plans, though. Stay posted for more information about how the studio plans to get spooky! DANCE NEWS October 2020 | Page Two PARKING Here are couple of reminders about parking: Please do not park in our alley between buildings. It's recommended not to drive through the alley during dance hours. We share the back parking lot and like to be good neighbors. Please use either on- street parking or pull into a marked space in the parking lot behind the studio. Parking is available on both sides of Front Street and Greene Street. Parking enforcement in downtown Marietta began earlier this summer. Not minding fire Oct. 5 hydrants and time limits could get expensive! Astronomy Day There is also a small public parking lot between the Lafayette hotel and the Ohio river. 17 Oct. Day Please make sure you dancer wears her street shoes in test the parking lot behind the studio. Glass and debris is Swee found on occasion although we do our best to keep it clean. It may be easier to run outside barefoot or in ballet slippers but we strongly recommend wearing regular shoes. RECITAL DVDS 2020 Visions of Dance Recital DVDs are here. If you haven't Oct. 24 picked yours up, it's available at the studio. If you didn't order but still want a DVD, you're not too late. DVD are $40 a copy. Make a Difference Day He has also been creating the MDA Recital DVD as long as there has been MDA. COMPETION TEAM BATH BOMB FUNDRAISER Bath bombs are back! MDACT members are selling bath bombs through October 21. Bath bombs are $5 each and are Oct. 27 set for delivery in mid-November. Proceeds from the sales Black will help team members pay for competition costumes and Cat competition fees. Get your stocking stuffers early by ordering Day from one of the team members!
