WHAT IS CHANGING? CDC Guidelines: The College is adopting the most recent guidance from the CDC. You can find that guidance here. You can also find additional details about what this means for you under What Is Expected of You. The College’s adoption goes beyond CDC for it includes requirement of proof of positive diagnosis and negative test. Dashboard and Metrics: The College will update the COVID-19 data dashboard to reflect the following data points: ● Available County COVID-19 Data ● PGCC Vaccinated and Exemption Percentages ● PGCC Self-Reported Positives and Exposures Due to the state-wide system outage, we were unable to update the data dashboard upon our return from winter break. PGCC data dashboard updates will commence during the week of January 10, 2022. Phases: The PGCC phases were created during the State of Emergency and will remain a part of the PGCC COVID-19 response plan when an applicable State of Emergency is in-place. With release of the vaccines, boosters, and antiviral treatments, the medical community has recommended monitoring hospitalizations and treatment metrics. Thus, we are in a different place and time and working diligently to respond to current and constantly changing conditions. While the initial phases and metrics served us well during the original State of Emergency, and with the addition of data gleaned from the College’s vaccination mandate and the existence of treatment now available for COVID-19, the College will not be reverting to red or yellow phases based on what is currently known. The College will remain committed to health and safety protocols supported by the CDC that advance individual health and help mitigate viral spread. Distancing: Please physically distance as much as possible whenever feasible. 2 PGCC COVID-19 Spring Semester Quick Reference Guide – January 2022
Meetings, Gatherings, In-person Events, and Activities: • All in-person PGCC events must have a hybrid option. • All meetings are strongly encouraged to meet virtually. Specifically, if the meeting does not require an in-person option to achieve an optimal outcome. External event requests are paused and will be re-assessed in four-to-six weeks. • Classes will continue to meet as scheduled until further notice. • Please consult with Auxiliary Services and Event Management (ASEM) for additional guidance. Masks: Faculty, staff, students, and visitors are required to wear masks indoors and outdoors. To ensure a safer community, the College will provide KN95 starter kits in the upcoming weeks. We will provide details about when we will provide the new starter kits the week of January 17. Infectious disease professionals and epidemiologists recommend KN95 masks because they provide a 95-percent filtration efficacy versus cloth masks. Webpages: College Coronavirus web pages will continue to undergo updates to ensure that information current. Updates will commence the week of January 10, 2022. New Be Wise Vax Verification App: Enterprise Technology, along with contract support teams, are working diligently to provide a COVID-19 vaccine verification app. This app will increase workflow efficiencies in managing the vaccination verification processes and provide a resource to upload vaccination documentation. Details about the new app are forthcoming. 3 PGCC COVID-19 Spring Semester Quick Reference Guide – January 2022
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU? It is incumbent upon each of us to continue to exercise Community Responsibility and abide by all guidance the College has in place at any point in time. The College’s COVID-19 vaccination mandate is in effect. ● The mandate applies to the initial COVID-19 vaccination sequence for the Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, and Pfizer vaccines. ● The mandate applies to all students, employees, and contractors regardless of work or class modality. ● Employees with an approved exemption must provide HROD proof of a weekly COVID- 19 test from a licensed medical practitioner or pharmacy. ● For a limited time period, the College will continue to offer the convenience of testing to those only with an approved exemption. The College’s vaccination mandate does not apply to the COVID-19 vaccination booster at this time. However, the College does strongly encourage every eligible member of the College to get the booster as soon as possible. Steps You Should Take Now ▪ Get vaccinated now to stay healthy and to remain in compliance with the College’s mandate. ▪ Get boosted. ▪ Wear face coverings. (Upgrade masks to KN95 or equivalent.) ▪ Wash hands frequently. ▪ Sanitize hands frequently. ▪ Distance, where possible, at work and away from work. ▪ Cough and sneeze into your elbow (even with a mask on). ▪ Stay home if you are sick. ▪ Communicate with your Supervisor and HROD regarding any suspected COVID-19 exposure or positive test result. ▪ Remain alert and vigilant. 4 PGCC COVID-19 Spring Semester Quick Reference Guide – January 2022
