Restrooms will only be available in case of emergency. Please do not plan on a restroom being available at Big Sky for anyone except for the registered camper. If a restroom is required, there will be a specified restroom for parents/accompanying adults. Please consider limiting the number of people that accompany each camper to two individual’s total (including siblings, parents, etc.). Campers who do not pass the health screening will be asked to leave camp. Each registration group (camper + accompanying individuals) will be asked to maintain a 6 ft. distance from other groups. For registration, spots will be marked for appropriate distancing. If possible, parents/guardians should complete all registration and payments prior to arriving at camp. The camp store may only have two parties in it at one time. This will be monitored by Big Sky staff. Traditional Camp pick up procedures: Parent/Guardian should proceed directly to camper’s dorm for pick up. Please consider limiting the number of accompanying individuals to two total (including siblings, parents, etc.). Parent/Guardian will be asked to remain outside of the dorm room. The camper will be ready to go and a Big Sky staff member will be available to help with luggage. Restrooms will only be available in case of emergency. Please do not plan on a restroom being available at Big Sky for anyone except for the registered camper. If a restroom is required, there will be a specified restroom for parents/accompanying individuals. The camp store will be open, but the number of parties shopping at one time will be limited. At this time, our closing chapel (Friday afternoon) will not be open to parents and/or guardians. Parents will proceed directly to the dorms to pick up their campers. Backpacking Notes Backpackers will undergo a health screening upon arrival at camp or at the drop off location for transportation.
Day Camp Drop off and Pick up Procedures General Items Campers who do not pass the health screening will be asked to leave camp. If possible, parents/guardians should complete all registration and payments prior to arriving at camp. The camp store may only have two parties in it at one time. This will be monitored by Big Sky staff. The bathrooms designated for day campers will be the chapel bathroom and the downstairs Dining Hall bathrooms. Unfortunately, there will be no closing chapel available for parents to attend as has occurred in previous years. The highlight video that will be shown to the campers will be available online free of charge. Parents and friends may not enter the chapel at any point throughout the week. For those dropping off at camp: Campers will undergo a brief health screening each day of day camp (see health screening protocol). Campers who do not pass the health screening will be asked to leave camp. We ask that only one parent or guardian for each child gets out of the car each day. All other personnel with each camper will be asked to stay in the car. Parents and friends may not enter the chapel at any point throughout the week. For those utilizing Big Sky transportation: Each camper will undergo a brief health screening at the pick up point. Campers who do not pass the health screening will not be permitted on the camp van.
Procedures for Enhanced Medical Screening of Campers In light of the COVID-19 recommendations, Big Sky Bible Camp will be running extra screening on our campers before camp. Due to the seriousness of the situation, if any camper is exhibiting any symptoms related to a potential case of COVID-19, they will NOT be allowed to attend camp, and refunds will be arranged. Please do the following prior to arrival at Big Sky: Take the temperature of the camper. If it is 100.4℉ or above, the camper will not be allowed to attend camp and a refund will be issued. Upon arrival at camp, our camp nurse will be checking for these symptoms: Fever of 100.4℉ or above Coughing or shortness of breath not associated with allergies, etc. Other signs of illness potentially related to COVID-19 or camper being unwell If your child presents symptoms while at camp, we will isolate them from other campers. You will be notified by camp staff and asked that you come pick up your child immediately. In the case of a COVID-19 outbreak at camp, Big Sky Bible Camp will: Notify the Health Department immediately of suspect or confirmed cases. Assist in identifying everyone who has been in contact with infected person (see program protocols as this will be a limited number) and provide the contact information list to the Health Department so that families can be notified for possible quarantine instructions.

Protocols for Big Sky’s Traditional Camp and Day Camp Programs Camper Exposure: Our goal is for campers to primarily be exposed to their cabin and counselor. The second line of exposure for campers will be by gender (exception- weeks we only have 1 gender here, the camp will be split in half). The goal is for one gender group to be completely distanced from the other gender group throughout the entire week. These policies will make it possible for each camper to limit their exposure to half of the camp, which will be 50 people or less. There will be no public restroom facilities open to campers. Campers will only be allowed to use the restroom in their cabin. After each activity, campers will be required to engage in good hand hygiene before moving on to the next activity. Chapel Cabin groups will sit together and each of those groups will be separated by at least six feet of distance. Miscellaneous Doors will be left open or held open so handles do not need to be touched. All camp games will be separated by gender. Items like helmets/masks will be disinfected between each participant. Electives will be separated by gender. Waterfront and store times will be separated by gender. Instead of lining up for meal times or store times, campers will be separated by cabin and called on when it is their turn. Water fountains will not be used. Campers will be encouraged to bring their own labeled water bottle or purchase one in the camp store and counselors will encourage campers to keep water bottles filled. Visitation Policy Parents of campers are permitted to drop off packages, etc., throughout the camper’s week at camp during business hours (8:30-5). Unless absolutely necessary, we ask that interaction with the camper while at camp be avoided. If it is necessary to visit your child, a brief temperature check is required before you will be permitted to visit. All visitors (parents, siblings, etc) must sign in at the front desk immediately upon arrival. If dropping off a package, please have other family members remain in your vehicle.
