The Halkyn Mountain Living Landscape Project is a European

ecology of the mountain sustainably. The mountain is approximately
2000 acres of Common Land and is designated as a Site of Special
Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Special Area for Conservation (SAC).
The landscape on the mountain is very much one shaped by the
     underlying geology.

The area has been extensively quarried for limestone and chert and
mined for lead. This industrial activity has had a lasting impact on the
flora and fauna of the mountain. The thin, lime rich soil provides the Launch Evening -
