The Dovetale Project New digital infrastructure for patient care • SJHH's previous paper-based system meant one visit could result in more than 180 pieces of paper, and posed risk for quality and safety. • In 2017, a secure information solution was implemented to place all patient information in one location. • Now, patients tell their full story once and all caregivers can see the same information. • Students helped with technical readiness testing, change management, data validation and training. #HIMSS21 16

Academic Institution SJHH is one of 20 healthcare Waterloo students exceeded expectations (34/35). 100% received academic credit. facilities in Canada today at HIMSS EMRAM level 6 and above. At the time of go-live, SJHH was one of the first teaching and research Co-op Students institutions in Canada to do so.
