Please keep in mind these dates are weather-dependent and subject to change.
Construction activities will be happening day and night. Activities that occur overnight
will be within the noise variance limits of 75 decibel hourly average with an allowable
spike up to 86 decibels. To make a complaint about construction noise during the night,
call the 24-hour hotline at 833-C70-INFO (270-4636). DDPHE regulates the noise variance
and residents may also call the city at 3-1-1. There is additional information about the
variance here.

Meet the Team: Carlina
Quintero
A recent addition to the asphalt/paving
Kiewit team, Carlina graduated from
Montana State University in 2015 as a
Civil Engineer. She worked as a mining
design engineer at Morrison-Maierle
before joining the Kiewit team two
months ago. Carlina enjoys that she
doesn’t have “a typical day.” After an
early start - at around 6 – 7 a.m. – the
asphalt/paving team coordinates the
activities for the day: they meet with the
crew, stretch and have a safety briefing
including discussing high-risk activities.
They coordinate with other teams to
ensure Project safety and readiness.
Carlina then returns to the office to
calculate actual costs for materials,
trucks and labor and compares them to
the estimates. She works with her team

to update schedules and plan for the next

day’s activities while keeping track of
what the crews are working on.
Carlina says her favorite parts of working
on the Central 70 Project are the people
she works with and learning something
new every day. “It truly feels like a team
effort. Never a dull moment!” When
she’s not at work, Carlina believes “life
begins at the end of your comfort zone.”
She has recently tried skiing, mountain
biking, and exploring the outdoors with
her dog, Milo. She also enjoys cooking,
spending time with friends, going to
concerts and traveling. Welcome to the
Kiewit family, Carlina!
Watch Our Progress
One of the best ways to see progress on
the Central 70 Project is to watch the
Nestle Purina Cam on the website.
Perched high on the Purina factory, this
camera gives some of the best views of
construction on one of the most exciting
areas of the Project. Take a look now to
watch the lowered section of I-70 being
excavated, and check out the new
Clayton Street bridge construction. Check
back often to watch the progress unfold!
Noise Variance Renewal

Kiewit Infrastructure Co. will be seeking a renewal of the noise variance from the Denver

Department of Health and Environment (DDPHE) Board on Aug. 8, 2019. Please note that
the hearing was originally scheduled for July 11, 2019, but was changed by DDPHE to
extend the deadline for submission of written comments. See more information on the
request and the process here.

Project Overview
The Central 70 Project will reconstruct a 10-mile stretch of I-70 between Brighton
Boulevard and Chambers Road, add one new Express Lane in each direction, remove the
aging, 55-year-old viaduct, lower the interstate between Brighton and Colorado
boulevards and place a 4-acre park over a portion of the lowered interstate.
Substantial completion is planned for 2022.

Una adición reciente al equipo de

compara con los presupuestados. Ella
trabaja con su equipo para actualizar los
horarios y planear las actividades del
próximo día, mientras también está al
tanto de lo que están haciendo las
cuadrillas.
Carlina dice que su parte favorita de
trabajar en el Proyecto Central 70 son las
personas con quien trabaja y que
aprende algo nuevo cada día.“De verdad
se siente como un esfuerzo del equipo.
¡Siempre pasa algo diferente!” Cuando no
está en el trabajo, Carlina cree que la
“vida empieza al final de tu zona de
confort.” Recientemente ella ha probado
esquiar, montar en bicicleta de montaña
y explorar al aire libre con su perro, Milo.
Ella también disfruta cocinar, estar con
sus amigos, ir a conciertos y viajar.

Renovación de la Variación del Ruido
Kiewit Infrastructure Co. ha solicitado una renovación a la variación del ruido por parte
de la Junta del Departamento de Salud y Medio Ambiente de Denver (DDPHE) el 8 de

Cronograma del Proyecto
El Proyecto Central 70 reconstruirá un tramo de 10 millas de la I-70 entre el Bulevar
Brighton y la Calle Chambers, agregará un nuevo Carril Exprés en cada dirección,
eliminará el antiguo viaducto de 55 años, bajará la autopista interestatal entre los
bulevares Brighton y Colorado y colocará un parque de 4 acres sobre parte de la
interestatal baja.
Se prevé que el Proyecto esté sustancialmente terminado en el 2022.
