Course Description:
This course addresses the fundamental principles of business analysis and the tools & techniques at the disposal of
business analysts to help projects achieve their goals. It provides an understanding of the roles of the business
analyst, skills and competencies used by the business analyst and demonstrates techniques to plan, manage,
analyze, document and communicate requirements at all levels.
The Comprehensive Business Analysis Program is aligned with the industry standard Business Analysis Book of
Knowledge® Guide (BABOK®), published by the worldwide International Institute of Business Analysis® (IIBA®). This
program also reflects best business analysis practices in the different business domains.

    •   Duration: One evening per week from 6‐9pm. 20 lectures (3 hours each), plus 2 Saturday workshops (8
        hours each).
    •   Location: McGill campus, Downtown Montreal
    •   Credit Weight: 16 Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
    •   IIBA® International Institute Business Analysis Continuing Development Units: 78 PD hours
    •   Price: $2650.00

Course Lecturers:
Georges Bryson, CBAP CSTE ITIL
Georges Bryson is a seasoned Senior Business Analyst ‐ CBAP & CSTE certified, with over 25 years of experience in
IS‐IT. Former associate director & consultant in Bell Canada's Business Analysis‐Project Management Center Of
Excellence, he is a recognized Change Leader for the development and introduction of new Enterprise wide
systems, processes, procedures and techniques, nationally and internationally.
Georges is a graduate of Concordia University, detains a Project Management as well as ITIL Foundation Version 3
and Lean Sigma Level 1 certifications. He presently teaches Business Analysis (Masters Certificate in Business
Analysis program) and is VP Professional Development ‐ IIBA Montreal chapter. He is co‐founder and VP of
MontGuide Inc., a results‐orientated collaboration enterprise.
Georges is known for his analytical spirit, his passion for discovering in a collaborative team environment, and
creative, innovative and value‐added solutions.

Robert (Bob) Abbott, MCPM
Bob is an experienced enterprise Senior Project Manager with over 30 years of Information and Technology
experience within the telecommunications industry. Bob is a graduate of McGill University in computer science,
and has his Masters Certification in Project Management from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). He
has been a change agent in the development and introduction of new agile processes, procedures and
collaboration techniques within various Information and Technology organizations. He has also designed and
delivered various types of corporate training to more than 2500 managers on enterprise project tools, processes
and techniques.
Bob is a consultant and works with various corporations providing facilitation and specialized training for teams in
both IT and non‐IT domains. Bob has a passion for teaching and developing people, he challenges teams to think
out of the box, and during his workshops uses creative approaches to build an atmosphere of trust and creative
thinking.

Additional Information:
There are no pre‐requisites for this course.
The courses are given in English
Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive an attestation from the McGill University School of
Continuing Studies indicating the number of CEUs and PDUs earned.

The following documents need to be submitted in order to complete your registration:
1. Registration Form, signed and dated
2. Permanent Code Data Form, signed and dated
       (If you do not have a McGill Student Number (ID) and/or do not know your Permanent Code, please fill in
       sections 3 – 8 on the Permanent Code Data Form; the ID number and code will be generated for you.)
3. One of the following supporting documents, clearly and legibly photocopied:
       Canadian Citizens:
               ‐ Canadian Birth Certificate (long version, which indicates both parents names)
                                 OR
               ‐ Canadian Citizenship Card (both sides)

               ‐ Canadian passport AND Québec High School or Cegep transcript only, not University

       Permanent Residents:
              ‐ Permanent Resident Card (both sides) AND landing paper (IMM1000/5292)

       International Students
                ‐ Valid passport AND one of the following:

                 ‐ Visitor stamp (valid for study for 6 months from the date of the stamp)

       NOTE: American passports are acceptable without a stamp or visa

Fees may be paid by Visa, MasterCard or AMEX by completing the appropriate section on the registration form. We also

If you wish to cancel your registration:
Please advise the Department of Career and Professional Development in writing either:
   1) Prior to the first lecture to obtain a full refund.
   2) Prior to the third lecture with a 100$ cancellation fee and full refund.
   3) After the third lecture withdrawal with no refund of course fees (please note this option implies a withdrawal,
      and a grade of “W” will appear on your transcript).
