The Skills Builder Framework has eight essential skills that should be central to what your NCS programme aims to achieve. These are the skills which employers, colleges and universities are looking for in young people and building this work and life readiness is a required outcome for NCS.
Community Rail / Partnerships We are working with a number of Community Rail Partnerships that can develop and enhance NCS programmes in the key areas • Being part of your community awareness sessions • Employability and careers • Social Action Opportunities • Travel – Increasing customer confidence

I enjoyed meeting new would love to do NCS again next year!" people" "The difference that the 'Keep Doing Good' programme has made is that I am now more aware of charities around me and what I am able to do in order to support these amazing charities" “It increased our confidence for when we may use public transport in the future”

Shared Vision Meetings Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) Asset Based Community Development is an approach that recognises the capacity that local communities have within them already, to make change happen for themselves. It’s about enabling and empowering local people to take action on the things they care about. Often, that means just getting out of the way! We can help by connecting people, facilitating collaboration, offering structure/legitimacy and “granting permission” (although they don’t actually need permission!) to local changemakers.
Shared Vision Meetings Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) We work hard to reach out to local people - on social media and through local partners, local press, emailing our contacts etc. The priority is to get a wide diversity of perspectives - local businesses, residents, community groups, leaders

Strengths What do we love about [Llanelli]? What are the best bits? Aspirations What would you love to see? Actions What shall we do? What would you like to lead on or support?
