SPRING 2021 | CCSTL.ORG Community CALL 8 Organizations. 1 Cause. A Stronger Community. Sharing the Mission: Young Adults and Parish Ambassadors Young Adults are Champions for Catholic Charities The Catholic Charities of St. Louis Young Professionals group provides opportunities for young Catholic adults to fulfill their personal call to service and to spread the Catholic Charities of St. Louis message and mission to others. The Young Professionals host a variety of in-person and virtual events: • Service, awareness, and advocacy activities • Professional development speakers and mentoring opportunities • Social gatherings and more A new Young Professionals membership program will be rolling out soon! For details, visit ccstl.org/get-involved/young-professionals or follow them on Facebook (@CCSTLYoungProfessionals). To sign up for e-newsletters and other updates, or for general questions, email youngprofessionals@ccstl.org. The Young Professionals Executive Board meets on the first Thursday evening of every month. To learn more about Board service, email the above address or Brian Thouvenot at bthouvenot@ccstl.org. Ambassadors Connect Parishioners with Catholic Charities Recognizing the importance of engaging Catholics in our mission, Catholic Charities of St. Louis launched a pilot Parish Ambassadors program in 2019. As the direct line of communication between Catholic Charities and their respective parishes, Ambassadors give witness to their own passion for our mission and invite fellow parishioners to join them in answering Christ’s call to Love our Neighbors. Thank you to our pilot Ambassador parishes: • Annunziata • Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis • Our Lady of Providence • St. Alban Roe • St. Anselm • St. Clement of Rome • St. Margaret Mary Alacoque We recommend having a two or more Ambassadors working together per parish. Ideal candidates regularly engage in parish life, currently support the CCSTL mission or feel called to do so, and have a desire to understand and speak about the work of CCSTL. Charlotte Slankard and Tracey Stanton (Our Lady of If you would like to learn more about becoming a Parish Ambassador, please contact Lisa Providence) distributed food at a COVID relief event. Barb Shea at lshea@ccstl.org or 314.256.5927. Murray (Cathedral Basilica) dropped off donated items. OUR MISSION: In response to the teachings of Jesus Christ, our mission is to serve people in need, especially those who are poor and vulnerable; work to improve social conditions for all people in the community; and call members of the Church and community to do the same.
