NOTES: School sites will be open at loca ons across the city to all children 18 and younger during school
closure. Distribu on will be down to two days per week (Monday and Wednesday) from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Five days of food will be provided and each bag will have meals for mul ple days (Breakfast, lunch, fresh fruit,
vegetables, milk, shelf-stable meals). No ID or proof of school enrollment is required. If possible, families are
asked to pick up meals with a child present but SFUSD can now give student meals to an adult family member
without a child present, thanks to dona ons received to cover the costs.

NOTES: In the first rollout of this program, the City sent registra on invita ons to San Francisco-based hospital

City has a very limited number of Emergency Child and Youth Care slots available for eligible families, and we
are doing everything we can to try to accommodate demand. If you did not receive an invita on to apply in the

community who are being impacted by the shelter in place order. The family meal menu is built for 2-3ppl and

response to the current COVID-19 crisis and the City's shelter-in-place order. The Library itself is closed through

CONTACT/NOTES: Feeling stressed out? Call the TALK Line at (415) 441-KIDS (415-441-5437) for support,
informa on, service referrals, or just to connect with someone who will listen. The TALK Line is a program of
Safe & Sound and offers compassionate support over the phone to parents and caregivers of children under
the age of 18 in the Bay Area. The TALK Line operates round-the-clock and is staffed by trained volunteers who

CONTACT/NOTES: Our services are geared primarily toward serving meals to low-income seniors. To be eligible
for our services, you must be: 60 years of age or older, Living in San Francisco, Addi onal factors contribu ng
to eligibility may include: Being homebound or needing help leaving your home, Unable to prepare meals or
shop for yourself, Recent hospital stay or ongoing health problems, Primarily living alone or with a caregiver.
We provide two nutri ous meals, seven days a week (including holidays) to your home. Depending on your
par cular needs, there are a variety of meal delivery and menu op ons available. You, a family member, or

caregiver can apply for our Home-Delivered Meals program by phone by contac ng the San Francisco
Department of Aging and Adult Services’ Informa on, Referral, and Intake Line at 415-355-6700. You can also

NOTES: SF's Li le Brothers Friends of the Elderly helps fight isola on for homebound seniors ages 65+ by

WHAT: Low Cost Shu le or Subsidized Taxis for Seniors and People with Disabili es

NOTES: Shop-a-Round is a convenient, low-cost shu le that makes it easier to go grocery shopping. The shu le
takes groups of riders to grocery stores or supermarkets in San Francisco where they want to shop. The service
offers registered older adults and people with disabili es personalized assistance that is not available on Muni
bus and rail lines.

WHO: SFMTA
WHAT: The Essen al Trip Card
CONTACT/NOTES: We know that for many older adults and people with disabili es, walking farther to an
alternate bus stop or paying for other transporta on isn’t possible. To serve this important popula on, the
SFMTA is announcing the Essen al Trip Card to help older adults and people with disabili es take and pay for
essen al trips in taxis during this crisis. The Essen al Trip Card will provide about two to three round trips per
month for eligible par cipants at 20% of the cost of a regular cab ride. Customers can either pay $6 to receive
$30 value or $12 to receive $60 value for taxi trips on a debit card. An older adult (65 or older) or person with
a disability can apply for the Essen al Trip Card by calling 311 and men oning the Essen al Trip Card. For those
who prefer a language other than English, language assistance is available. Staff will be available weekdays
between 9:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. While we encourage using the phone to minimize contact, as a last resort,
qualifying customers may enroll in person at the SF Paratransit Broker’s Office (68 12th Street) if needed. The
office remains open during regular weekday business hours (as of April 13, 2020). More informa on can be

by a medical professional), you can file a Disability Insurance (DI) claim. DI provides short-term benefit
payments to eligible workers who have a full or par al loss of wages due to a non-work-related illness, injury,
or pregnancy. Caregiving - If you’re unable to work because you are caring for an ill or quaran ned family
member with COVID-19 (cer fied by a medical professional), you can file a Paid Family Leave (PFL) claim. PFL
provides up to six weeks of benefit payments to eligible workers who have a full or par al loss of wages
because they need me off work to care for a seriously ill family member or to bond with a new child. School
Closures - If your child’s school is closed, and you have to miss work to be there for them, you may be eligible
for Unemployment Insurance benefits. Eligibility considera ons include if you have no other care op ons and if
you are unable to con nue working your normal hours remotely. File an Unemployment Insurance claim and
our EDD representa ves will decide if you are eligible. Reduced Work Hours - If your employer has reduced
your hours or shut down opera ons due to COVID-19, you can file an Unemployment Insurance (UI) claim. UI
provides par al wage replacement benefit payments to workers who lose their job or have their hours
reduced, through no fault of their own. Self-Employed - The available benefits are insurance programs. To be
eligible, either you or an employer had to make contribu ons in the past 5 to 18 months. It is possible these
contribu ons were made at a prior job, or if you were misclassified as an independent contractor instead of an

NOTES: The U.S. Small Business Administra on has launched the Paycheck Protec on Program (PPP) to assist
nonprofits during the COVID-19 crisis. In brief, the PPP will provide forgivable, low-interest loans to support
staff salaries, rent, u li es, and other core opera ng expenses. Nonprofits are eligible for funds up to 2.5 mes
their monthly payroll amount. Again, these loans may be forgiven as long as certain condi ons are met,
including nonprofits maintain their employees for eight weeks. The most important thing you can do is reach
out to your banker* today in order to begin the applica on process. The funds are available on a first come,
first served basis, and we expect demand will be very high. The best thing you can do to secure these funds is
to begin the process immediately, and that means you need to have an appointment scheduled with your
banker, and as soon as possible.

NOTES: As the community mobilizes to address the many challenges presented by COVID-19, the San Francisco
Founda on has launched a new fund that is designed to help nonprofit organiza ons respond. The SFF
COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund will make a limited number of one- me grants ($3,000 - $25,000) to
nonprofits addressing the following four issue areas: racial bias, worker protec on, homelessness and renter
protec on/housing security, and food security. We understand how important it is to quickly deliver funds to
nonprofits. If approved, grants will be processed within 10-15 days of applica on receipt. If your organiza on is
working on these issues, we strongly encourage you to apply by clicking on the link below. We also are seeking

NOTES: The Islais Creek Adapta on Strategy is a two-year community planning process in the Islais Creek area
that will develop ac onable strategies that address sea level rise and coastal flood risk through a robust public
engagement process. Building on the Resilient by Design proposal and other city and regional efforts, the
SMAS will develop a long-range vision for the Islais Creek shoreline, asset-specific solu ons for public
infrastructure, and a priori zed funding and implementa on strategy that increases the resilience of the
community and provides improved transporta on networks and new open space. This is a collabora on
between the Port and MTA. We are in the beginning ini al phases of framing a robust engagement process and
this survey will help us iden fy community priori es as we dive deeper into addressing this issue.

NOTES: #GetLoudForOurHeroes will make noise in apprecia on for our health care workers, restaurant
workers, truck drivers, IT workers, emergency workers, construc on workers, child care workers, sanita on
workers, police officers, firefighters, sheriffs, homeless service providers, nonprofit workers, MUNI operators,
BART operators, grocery store clerks, and all the essen al employees out there working during this public
health epidemic. The idea is that we all step outside of our homes or look outside of our windows for 2
minutes, then we start cheering, clapping, banging on pots, and making noise for our frontline workers. In that
brief moment we’ll get to see our neighbors from a safe distance, and we get to connect with them as we all
salute the work of our frontline workers. This is a way for all of us to demonstrate solidarity and gra tude for
all the workers who are pu ng their health at risk, who are protec ng all of us and keeping essen al good and
services opera ng during this crisis.
