Europe
Medium-/long term there will be legislations in Europe,
which will require from the enterprises that they prove
that their products have to be taken back, kept in loops
and which must not contain environmentally degrading
substances. Companies, which fulfill these future regulations

• 30 years president of the weaving company „Backhausen interior textiles“ (165 old
traditional family-enterprise, approx. 250 employees). Extensive practical experience with
the implementation of Cradle to Cradle.
• Former president of the association of the Austrian industry for textiles, apparel, shoes
and leather („TBSL“).
• Former member of the board of „EURATEX“ (association of the European Textile-and
apparel-industry in Brussels (speaker for environment)
• Former president of the „ÖTI- Austrian institute for technology and innovation“ (Vienna)
