Chocolate Den: Ice-Cream Cake
I made t his ice cream cake by mixing a caramel f lavour It alian ice cream powder wit h my
milk and cream. I beat it in my mix mast er f or approximat ly 4 minut es.
When I poured it int o my t in I mixed in some caramel sauce. I t hen set it in t he f reezer f or
24 hours.
T o release I simply dipped t he t in in very hot wat er and t hen f lipped it ont o a cake board.
I decorat ed t he cake wit h chocolat e mousse and popped a chocolat e rose on t op

Chocolate-Orange Bath
Volcano
Ingredient s:
1kg Fizz Bop (Soap Barn)
Chocolat e Fragrance (Soap Barn)
Orange Fragrance (Soap Barn)
Orange powder colouring (Soap Barn)
Brown powder colouring (Soap Barn)
Bat h Fizz St ickers (Soap Barn)
Small Pyramid PVC Boxes (Soap Barn
Met hod:
Fold pyramid boxes and seal t he f olded edge wit h sellot ape.
Divide t he f izz bop in t wo, 1/3 in one bowl and 2/3 in anot her bowl. Colour t he larger
amount wit h t he brown colouring and f ragrance it wit h t he chocolat e f ragrance. Colour
t he smaller amount wit h orange powder colour and f ragrance it wit h orange.
Pack t he t op of pyramid t ight wit h orange f izz bop and t hen f ill t he rest in wit h brown.
Pack it in t ight .
Close t he pyramid at t he bot t om and label your volcano wit h a bat h f izz st icker.
T o Use: Run a nice hot bat h. Snip t he t op of t he volcano of f wit h a pair of scissors and
drop it in t he bat h wit h you. You will have t he best bat h f un experience ever as t he bat h
volcano errupt s in f abulous f izz and f ragrance.

Chocolate-Orange Pot-Pourri
Ingredient s:
Dried orange slices (Soap Barn)
Chocolat e f ragrance (Soap Barn)
Orange f ragrance (Soap Barn)
Spraying alcohol (Soap Barn)
Cinnmon st icks
St ar Anise
Glass bowl (Soap Barn)
Met hod:
Mix 10ml orange f ragrance wit h 10ml chocolat e f ragrance. T hen add 50ml spraying
alcohol.
Place your orange slices, cinnamon st icks and st ar anise in a glass bowl.
Pour your f ragrance mixt ure over
Leave in any room in your house f or wonderf ul scent and st yle.

Christmas Launch: Mini Workshops
Mini Workshops
T here are 8 dif f erent mini workshops t hat you can at t end. Each workshop cost s R15 and
t akes half an hour. Booking and payment in advance f or workshops is essent ial as t his will
allow f or smoot h running classes on t he day. All workshops t ake place at T he chocolat e
Den in our demonst rat ion/ t eaching kit chen, and all t ake place cont inually t hroughout t he
day. T imes are as f ollows:
9am -9.30am
9.45am -10.15am
10.30am-11.00.am
11.15- 11.45am
12pm -12.30pm
12.45pm-1.15pm
1.30pm- 2.00pm
2.15pm – 2.45pm
T he workshops are:
1) Cake pops. Beat up t he bat t er and t hen bake 6 cake pops in our mini cake pop machine
and decorat e t hem.
2) Push pop cakes. Make t wo delicious cake push pops choosing your own choice of f illing
and decorat ion.
3) Belgium cranberry and cashew nut chocolat e discs. Get t o make 80g of t hese delicious
chocolat e using a Belgium chocolat e wit h berries and nut s as well as chocolat e t ransf ers
.
4) Chocolat e t ruf f les. Learn t o make a chocolat e t ruf f le mixt ure using f resh cream t hen
get t o hand roll t hese delicious chocolat es. You will t ake home a box of 8 f abulous hand
craf t ed chocolat es.
5) Liqueur chocolat es. T he perf ect and easy way t o make Belgium chocolat e liqueurs is t o
work wit h t ruf f le shells. You will get t o make an assort ment of t hese superb chocolat es
wit h dif f erent liqueur f illings. (not suit able f or children)
6) Make 2 chocolat e dessert dishes out of chocolat e. Fill t hem wit h a combinat ion of
dif f erent Belgium chocolat e mousse and decorat e wit h chocolat e garnishes.
7) Ice cream dessert and ice cream sandwiches. Make t hree dif f erent kinds of individual
ice cream servings, decorat ing wit h chocolat e sauces and chocolat e garnishes.
8) Learn t o decorat e 4 cupcakes, t wo of t he cupcakes wit h but t er icing and t wo wit h
plast ic icing.

Spraying alcohol (Soap Barn)
Met hod:
Mix 10ml orange f ragrance wit h 10ml chocolat e f ragrance. T hen add 50ml spraying

Place your Himalayan salt rocks in a glass bowl. (I ran mine under some hot wat er f irst t o
get t hem clean and shiny)
Pour your f ragrance mixt ure over
Leave in any room in your house f or wonderf ul scent and st yle.

T his st ory is set in Johannesburg, Sout h Af rica. It t akes place over t he t en days bef ore

Christ mas, and as each day begins a new chapt er unf olds. It is a det ailed look at t he lif e
of T ina, a beggar, and her f amily. Over t hese t en days t he reader is drawn int o t heir lif e
crisis, it s climax and part ial resolut ion. It is a non-judgement al st udy of one part icular
woman's plight .
T he cent ral charact er in t his st ory is T ina, an obese whit e woman who st ands on t he
corner out side Hyde Park Corner, one of t he most exclusive shopping cent res in
Johannesburg, wit h a banner t hat reads "No Job. No Money. Children t o Feed. Please Help."
Her t wo children sit at her f eet while she begs.
T ina shares her corner wit h her dest it ut e sist er-in-law Hant ie. During t he t en days
described t heir lives become t ot ally int ert wined. Hant ie's lif e t umbles down int o a dark
abyss and pulls down t oget her wit h it t he lives of T ina and her f amily. But t he hardest
blow t o T ina's lif e is Hant ie's ult imat e decept ion. Hant ie's st ruggle f or survival ent ails a
t errible bet rayl of T ina and her f amily and T ina is only able t o put back t oget her t he
pieces of her lif e once she has f orgiven Hant ie. T his t hen is a st ory of st ruggle,
decept ion, f orgiveness and redempt ion. Finally, even t hough T ina's f inancial crisis is not
resolved, many ot her aspect s of her lif e f all back int o place and t he reader knows t hat
her posit ive approach t o lif e's hardships will in t he end be her saving grace.
On T ina's Corner is a st ory set in t he Johannesburg we know t oday. It is a Sout h Af rican
st ory t hat illust rat es and f ocuses our at t ent ion on t he plight of t he many dest it ut e
people who st and begging on busy corners.

communit ies, wherever we are, t o see what we so of t en choose t o ignore.

Chocolate-Orange Soaps
Ingredient s:
Rect angle mould (Soap Barn)
Whit e Farmhouse soap (Soap Barn)
Brown soap colour (Soap Barn)
Orange soap colour (Soap Barn)
T issue paper wrapping (Soap Barn)
Cellophane (Chocolat e Den)
Hessian St ring (Soap Barn)
Soap st ickers (Soap Barn)
Met hod:
Melt your soap gent ly in t he microwave or in a pot on t he st ove. Separat e it out in t wo
part s and colour t wo part s brown and orange. Fragrance each half accordingly.
Pour t he soap int o moulds and leave t o set .
Un-mould t he soaps when set set . Leave t hem f or a day t o dry out . T hen you can wrap
t hem f irst in cellophane. Af t er t hat you can wrap t hem in at t ract ive t issue paper. Place
a soap st icker on t o complet e t he packaging.
Chocolate Den: Italian Ice-Cream Kisses Beat up your ice cream using our new ice-cream powder mix. I promise you, it is t he most delicious ice-cream you have ever encount ered Pour int o a silicone mould. Leave t o f reeze f or approximat ely 12 hours. Unmould and dip immediat ely int o chocolat e ice cream coat ing.
Place back int o f reezer.
Use when desired.

Chocolate-Orange Linen MistRequirement s:
10ml Orange f ragrance (Soap Barn)
10ml Chocolat e f ragrance (Soap Barn)
100ml Spraying alcohol (Soap Barn)
Orange liquid colouring (Soap Barn)
Dist illed wat er (or boiled wat er f rom your ket t le)
Spray bot t le (Soap Barn)
Room and Linen Spray St ickers (Soap Barn)
Met hod:
Add t he t wo f ragrances t o t he 100ml spraying alcohol. Mix well. Add t wo or t hree drops
of orange colouring and t hen 400ml wat er. T he mixut e will go milky and you will have a
st unning, luxurious spray f or your home.
Chocolate Den: Christmas PansWe have got in some Christ mas designs in t he plast ic pans. I have now successf ully baked in t hem, moulded chocolat e in t hem and have just t ried my new ice cream in t hem and t hey really work well wit h what ever medium you are using. The Soap Barn: Soap Recipe No 66 2013 Chocolate-Orange Body Butter Ingredients: 500ml Body Butter Base (Soap Barn) Orange fragrance (Soap Barn) Chocolate fragrance (Soap Barn) Orange liquid soap colouring (Soap Barn) Lotion jars (Soap Barn) Body Butter stickers (Soap Barn) Method: Melt your Body Butter Base in the microwave for 3-4 minutes. When it is melted and pour it into a pot on the stove over a low heat. Run your hot water tap till the water reaches bath water temperature. Fill your empty 500ml jar with water and add that to the melted Body Butter Base. You can fill it 3-4 times (ie 1.5lt - 2lt) with water to get a good body butter consistency. In the recipe above I used 3 x 500ml water. After you have added the water remove the pot from the stove. You can now add your colour and fragrance. Do not overdo the colour because you don't want to stain anybody's skin. Add as much fragrance as you like. Leave the mixture to cool and stir through every few minutes. When the mixture is cool you can beat it with a small electric handbeater to get a thick, smooth consistency. Fill your jars and share with everyone you love because this is a very special body butter.
