Our heritage
Founded in 1951, we began as a small hotel in the seaside town of Folkestone, Kent. Noting a gap
in the market for off-peak holidays, entrepreneur Sidney De Haan launched breaks for retired
holidaymakers. The idea took off, and soon he expanded the Saga concept to hotels and tours
around the globe.
Under the leadership of Sidney’s son, Roger De Haan, we grew into a complete lifestyle brand for
the over 50s. We’re still based in Folkestone, our hometown for almost 70 years, and are proud of
our heritage as a company who really cares about our customers, and who champions them in all
aspects of their life.

Sheffield Botanical Gardens
If you enjoy getting outdoors over the festive

Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens. Situated close
