Lets Go! My name is Bobby Peterson and I am so excited that you are planning to spend part of your summer with us at JH Ranch doing Challenge! It is truly a unique program and I cannot wait to have you come see it firsthand this summer! To give you a little glimpse of what you are signing up for here are a few things you can look forward to. You're going to be hiking in the Redwood forest, jet boating on the Rogue River, surfing in the Pacific Ocean, and discovering your true identity in the Lord. It's going to be an amazing time for sure. As your Challenge leader, we will get to know each other very well. I will be with you every step of the way helping you discover your life purpose as a child of God and developing your leadership characteristics through teachings, testimonies and discussions. I first stepped on property at the JH Ranch as a volunteer in 2011, and I'll never forget the feeling inside of me that just screamed with excitement. That summer was the beginning of my "Everlasting Adventure." I learned what it was like to truly live as a child of God and develop a deeper relationship with Him. After serving several of my summers at the Ranch, I moved to Birmingham from Jackson, Mississippi where I met my beautiful wife Mimi. We now have two daughters, Anne Harper (2.5) and Olivia (5 months). My life calling will always be leading people (especially students) to a greater understanding of God's love, and I truly am excited to be part of the experience when you encounter that firsthand! Leading Challenge gives me so much joy and have never felt more alive than I do leading at JH Ranch! Bobby Peterson

Your student's arrival to Sacramento should be no later than 2 PM PT on the start date of your program. On arrival day, all efforts by our staff are focused on the arrival of the students, therefore, we are not able to pick up or drop off students at other airports. JH Ranch will provide transportation between the Sacramento airport and the Ranch. Read more on page 10. Please be sure to observe our luggage guidelines (page 4) as our luggage vehicles have limited capacity. DEPARTURE: LET US KNOW! Travel Notes for flights to and from the JH Ranch: • Make sure to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours ahead of your scheduled flight time. Summer travel increases wait times at the airports. Departure times for all students tend to fall during congested travel times, so plan for twice the amount of time your student would normally need to get checked in. • Be at the gate 45 minutes prior to departure. Boarding time is usually 30-40 minutes prior to take-off. Make sure your student is aware! • Airlines no longer take cash as an option for luggage costs. Please ensure that your student's departing flight's baggage fees have been paid in advance, or that your student has a credit/ debit card to pay for those departure fees. • Please contact our office for our unaccompanied minor contact. If your student is an unaccompanied minor (14 years old or younger), make sure you pay the fee for both ways. Please do not voluntarily book your students as an unaccompanied minor if it is not required. It complicates the pick-up and drop off process for them. • With hundreds of students flying to JH, flights out of Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas will most likely have multiple other JH students on them. 9
TRAVEL: MORE DETAILS Once your student steps into baggage claim, they will be greeted by 20+ JH staff members ready to get your student efficiently and safely to JH Ranch. They will be checked-in and given a catered lunch*. SMF TO THE RANCH All students must arrive in the Sacramento airport (SMF) on the start date of the program before 2 PM PT. By bus, it takes around 6 hours to get to JH Ranch including a stop for dinner. If your student arrives late, the bus departure is delayed, and students arrive late to JH Ranch. With 300 students arriving and various unavoidable delays, we cannot approve any flights arriving after 2 PM Pacific Time. Our team will be in the Sacramento airport at 8:30 AM on the arrival date of the program. If your student arrives before then, they must wait in Terminal A baggage claim until we arrive.
