CHEROKEE TRAIL HIGH SCHOOL CEEB Code: 060086 Permission to Release Student Records Electronically Agreement to Waive Access to Recommendations Dear Seniors and Parents: Cherokee Trail High School will be using the EDOCS system in conjunction with Naviance to electronically release records to institutions. In order to do so, the CTHS counseling office must have your permission to electronically send transcripts and letters of recommendations to those colleges, scholarship organizations and other programs to which you are applying. Beginning fall 2010, the Post Grad Office will only forward ACT, SAT, SAT II’s, and AP scores to the colleges under exceptional circumstances. Colleges are now requesting the original ACT, SAT, or SAT II score reports be sent directly from the testing agency (ACT or College Board) to the college as part of the application. During district wide ACT testing on February 25, 2020, every student was allowed to request four free score reports be sent to colleges of their choice. Additional score reports for future college entrance exams must be requested at the time of registration or forwarded directly from the ACT or SAT website. Please read our record release procedures below and then sign to authorize permission to release the requested forms electronically. Transcripts and letters of recommendations will be sent electronically unless otherwise requested at the time a student fills out the Transcript Request form in the Post‐Grad Office. At that time a student may alternatively request that records be sent via U.S. mail or processed for student pick‐up in a sealed and stamped envelope. Otherwise, all student records will be sent electronically. Students can expect that the staff members who agree to write recommendations on their behalf will be honest advocates. Recommendation letters written on behalf of the student are confidential documents, sent directly to the colleges and other programs to which a student is applying. It is understood that the parent(s) and student waive access to recommendations so that the recipients may place full faith in the perspectives being shared. We have reviewed, understand, and accept the student record release policies above. We authorize the Cherokee Trail Post‐Grad Office to release the student’s transcript and other records to colleges and other programs which he/she intend to apply. It is the student’s responsibility to inform the Post‐Grad Office where to send his/her school credentials and of the deadlines for each program when filling out the CTHS Transcript Request form. We understand that all teacher and counselor recommendations are confidential documents and hereby waive access to them. No letters of recommendation will be handed to a student or parent. Cherokee Trail 2021-2022 Parent Teacher Community Organization [PTCO] Welcome new and returning CT families! As you all know, the Covid-19 issue has changed many things for all of us, from the ways we do business to how we interact with our friends and families. This has hit us pretty hard at Cherokee Trail as well, and we are looking for new ways to support our students and staff through this time. Our primary main fundraisers - calendars for the year (the actual on-campus schedule is still shifting) and our Craft Fairs (our Spring Fair was cancelled, and we are still unsure of the status of our upcoming Fall Fair) - won’t be generating the usual financial support, and we are hoping for family & community donations to bridge a bit of that gap. Please use RevTrak to make donations to PTCO. A bit about our organization: the purpose of the Cherokee Trail PTCO is to assist in attaining the highest level of education and welfare for the entire student body of Cherokee Trail High School through the cooperative efforts of the Faculty and Staff, the Cherry Creek School District community and parents. PTCO shall also work to further the Cherokee Trail Mission statement: “Our actions will ignite the genius and nurture the goodness within us all.” Here are some of the fruits of our fundraising efforts: ● PTCO provides classroom grants that enhance the educational and learning experience of the Cherokee Trail High School student body. In 2020, PTCO made over $25,000 in grants for educational materials, equipment, and learning experiences. PTCO’s legacy for having an impact on our students’ learning experience continues! ● PTCO hosts After Prom, a post-prom safe and alcohol-free event for CT students. More than 350 juniors and seniors attended After Prom 2019 Boondocks. ● PTCO prepares and serves dinner to the faculty and staff during the fall and spring Parent/Teacher conferences. ● PTCO is a Teacher Appreciation Week sponsor. ● PTCO sponsors the annual Holiday Craft Fair each fall, followed months later with the Spring Fling Craft Fair. We are also in need of new general members! We invite you to join PTCO at our projects, programs and meetings. PTCO enlists a communication platform to keep parents and guardians informed of volunteer opportunities and school events. Be sure to Opt In during registration to receive our email communiques. PTCO encourages you to share your ideas and help make a difference in your student’s experience throughout his/her time at Cherokee Trail. If you would like to volunteer or join PTCO, please fill out the PTCO Sign Up Form. We hope you’ll make plans to join us for our General Membership meetings throughout the year. Watch your email for dates and times . If you have any questions please email: lindseybraun921@gmail.com or tamibrown23@gmail.com. Your Cherokee Trail PTCO Board looks forward to making the 2021-2022 school year a great one!
