Regional Action Plan Grow the economy of the Central Coast and provide sustainable employment Growing the economy and providing jobs close to where people live is a key priority for the NSW Government. The Central Coast population is expected to grow by an additional 100,000 people by 2031 requiring more than 45,000 new local jobs. A more diverse economic and employment base is required to support expected future growth within the region. Currently, local job growth is reliant on population related services such as construction, retail, tourism and health. Around 38,000 Central Coast residents commute to jobs outside of the region. To support local economic growth and job creation we need to: • Support sustainable employment opportunities and investment • Attract new businesses by providing vibrant and growing regional centres • Promote the region as a choice tourism and event destination.
